Question Modify headliner for more headroom?

I don't fit in my car while wearing a helmet, and am trying to figure out how to get more headroom (short of buying a racing seat and custom mounts). I was looking at my headliner yesterday, and it looks like there is at least an inch of padding above my head.

Can the padding be removed and the headliner reworked/replaced to provide more room?

Anyone ever looked under there to see how much extra room I could recover, and if there is anything (wires, etc) that would prevent my doing this?

Thanks

make a bubble in the roof, like in the old ford GTO. or shave off the top of your helmet =)

but seriously... the only pratical solution would be to get racing seats. it will definately help you out more ways than one.

ZZZealous is right. If you're 6'3" and add another 2 inches of helmet on your head, it's a damn tight fit and only racing seats will drop you down low enough.
