Clear Bra on White Z
I recently contacted a Clear Bra installer who wouldn't install the Clear Bra on my white car because of yellowing of the film. He doesn't use the 3M brand . Is there any one having problems with the Clear Bra on their white car? How long have you had it installed?
i have it...i can see why ppl say that...
i mean if you look at my car...(don't have pics will try to get some)
you can see that i have the clear bra...at the edges...you can see where the plastic meets the car cuz of the dirt or what not...
but after i wash it...its gone...i've had it since aug 03 and i live in boston...(crappy weather)
if you keep it clean, your fine. plus its def worth getting because i'd rather have this spec of yellow lining then chips.
if it gets really bad, i'd just replace it down the road...
hope this helps

What the installer was talking about was about a yelloswish color all over the film which changes the original appearance. If it only happens at the edges while the car is dirty, I can certainly live with it.
Mario...only if you give me your rims will i post pics...=p
k..i will but it has to be tomallo...i actually don;t have a digital cam...but i will def take pics ...and i just washed my car too so you guys can judge for urself

I have the 3m clear bra on Pearl (my Z) the installer told me to wipe the seem line down with alcohol and Q-tip. This does work, cleans the dirt line very quick. However when I wash my car I put on those big ulgy yellow cleaning gloves and use the edge of my nail with a towel and go over it. Especially after waxing. But sorry, I'll take having to clean that line over paint chips any day.
People always tell me that can't even see it until I point it out. I have only had it though for 2 months, and I do wipe Pearl down daily.

I had a Xpel clear bra installed on my redline Z. It was not an easy task according to the installer. It is a pre cut kit for each application done by a computer program. The film has to be stretched and squeegee'd into place. Kind of like installing window tint. It took the installer 7 hrs and he had to come back a second day because it bubbled on the hood. The kit covered the whole front bumper, one third the hood, the fenders, the inside of the wheel wells, and the edge of the doors. Bug acids and bird droppings just wash right off of the film. Care for the film is easy. Just use a cleaning polish to get rid of scratches and a was to get rid of swirls. The film is barely noticeable. The film is definately worth it. Hope this helps.
I've had the bra for about 6 months now. I had friends that told me the same thing about the yellow tint. My installer said that it might have been an issue early on but not now. If all else fails he said that it can be taken off. Nobody has ever noticed that it's on until I've pointed it out to them. You can see the line across the hood after dirt builds up but it washes off. The bugs seem to wash off much better off of the film than the plastic. I had the front kit done, the headlights and the mirrors.
It did take about a month for the kit to finally set down. I had a few noticeable bubbles for several weeks and had my doubts. It took a full month before all the moisture was gone from my headlights to. Now that it is on I would do it again if I had to. The first time that you see a black chip on the front of your white Z you are going to kick yourself for not doing it earlier!
