Any one installed Sparco seats in a 350ZR??
I just installed a set of Sparco Torinos in my 350ZR this weekend. I had the top down during the install. However, I ran into some problems.
1) The passenger Sparco Base (#400SB031R) does not sit evenly. As a result, the seat is 'tilted' and not centered with the back rest. In addition, I could only align and screw in 3 out of the 4 screws that screw into the car's bottom.
Ironically, there was no problems with the driver's side at all.
2) As expected, since I had side air bags on the factory seats, the SRS light is on. I still can't find a procedure to turn this light off. One guy mentioned something about using a 2 ohm resistor.
3) This is the biggest problem. Now that the Sparco seats are installed, I can't close the top!! The back would simply raise up, but the motor never engage to lift the top.
I can only speculate the cause of this issue. The passenger factory seat would automatically move forward when opening and closing the top. The seat would move back to its original position when the process is completed. However, since I now have the Sparco seats maybe the 'computer' controlling this process is confused and therefore does not raise the top.
Any thoughts or ideas??

i thought if you installed the reclining seats, you needed the TAB version seat base... not the flat-
you need to make the holes in the base align properly. 3 out of 4 holes is not enough.. take it to a local shop that does machine work or drill out the hole with a dremel to make it fit. it has should sit properly in the floor of the car for obvious safety reasons..
as for the airbag.. you need a 2 ohm or a 2.2ohm resistor, which you will need to attach to the yellow airbag connector in order to get rid of the SRS light on the dash-.. DO NOT put a multimeter across the airbag to measure the resistance.. the voltage in your meter might be enough to set it off.. i tried to search radioshack for a 2ohm resistor but i have been unsuccessful, basically its just a Red & Black striped resistor....
this guy sells disconnection kits (http://www.airbagonoff.com/) but you make make your own resistor wiring kit cheap if you can find the parts-

Chebosto,
Thanks for the feedback. I will check with Sparco to determine the differences between the tabbed base and the flat base. I agree that having 3 out of 4 bolts secured is a huge saftely issue. I will get this resolved before driving a passenger.
I'll look into www.airbagoffon.com
Thanks again....

you can achieve 2ohm resistance rather easy-
radio shack DOES have a 2ohm and a 2.2 ohm resistor, but its found in a pack of 500 resistors...
what they do have readily available is a 5 pack of 10ohm resistors, and if you put them in parallel- its 2ohms.
sorta off topic for a bit-
freakin A these Sparco bases are pieces of ****. i finally received my passengerside Evo2 and the sliders with the sidemount brackets dont even fit the seat..arrrg. time to dremel!
