Left Foot Rest - Loose?
I have had my automatic Touring for a couple months. The only thing I have noticed is that the left foot rest seems loose. Seems like it is not secured at the top of the rest giving it some movement.
For those with an automatic how tightly is the left foot rest secured?
Thanks!

I just got done taking it apart. I appears that there are two large plastic things that are supposed to tighten around the two screws sticking up from the car body. The one on the top does not grab hold of the screw and pops up. Therefore the top of the foot rest is not secured. Given it is the plastic "crap" thing that is not holding the screw it will need to be fixed at the dealer.

i had that problem on my manula from day one....
at first i tried to tighten those screw on top. DO NOT DO THAT! They are just there for decoration. Not functional.
I pulled the whole thing off. Played w/ the clips on the back a bit. Twisting it and stuff. And somehow got it back on.
It's fine now. Just take it off and twist around the clip thingies.

i've tried twisting it, at every single position, it will not clip back on. This is dangerous, because sometimes the shoe can get caught and imagine if the foot rest comes off and gets stuck under the brake pedal.
It was loose because I had pulled it off to reach the fuse box (which, by the way, i think it wasn't necessary to do so). And once it was out, it wasn't going in as before. So i guess the next thing to do is buy another pedal from courtesy parts ($17.00) and get it replaced (I have a base, i had to put the aluminum pedals after, so going to the dealer is out of the question).

i was thinking the same way. "Great, I pulled this thing off, now I can't put it back on."
try to stick in back on some more. Line it up w/ the bolts sticking out and push straight in. Took me a while....

I drive a manual car, and I also have that problem.
At first I thought I didn't push the top hard enough, so I started kicking it, but that doesn't help at all.
Weird thing is that, the bottom part seems to be secured. And as you know, once it's secured, you can't pop it off. So now I'm stucked because I can't take the dead pedal off. I can simply pop the top and turn it clockwise 90* but I still can't reach the bottom screw.
I don't want to take it to the dealership, they told me that base model didn't come with those pedals, so it's not under warranty. If I want them to fix it, the labor fees will be around $200, because they might have to drill holes etc...
Someone help me with this.

There was some sort of a DIY a while back where guys were taking it off, wrapping the pegs in electrical take IIRC and then pushing it back in. I have yet to try this but likely will soon.
