HELP on installing 350Z HID on a MATRIX
I need some suggestions from someone who has experience with retro fitting 350Z HID kit on another vehicle;
OK, I got a set of 350Z HID system which I would like to install on a 2004 Toyota Matrix and I've notice there is only 2 wires (Red/Black) coming out of each balast (not the wires to the bulb) so my question is; can I just wire those 2 wires (Red/Black) to the Matrix's headlight wires (Red/Black)?
Matrix uses 9006 halogen bulbs and also has 2 wires going into the bulb. (BTW: I do have the adoptors to convert D2R bulb to fit a 9006 headlight housing)
(1) Is there anything/parts I need to add to this convention or is it just a direct wiring?
(2) I know HID produce very high voltage so do I need special wirings or can I use the OEM Matrix headlight wirings?
(3) Is there anything in particular that I need to pay special attention to during the installation?
THANKS A MILLION

Here is a picture of what I got. I took a serious look at the kit and notice there is a wire (#1 in picture) coming out of the bulb socket, and I notice it was connect to the 350Z projector lense metal housing, is this grounding for the metal housing?
I also notice that wire (#1) connects to the metal mesh shield (#2) and finally connects to the balast with a small screw (#3), see the red arrows in the picture. What's the purpose of this wire, grounding the housing (weird)? Do I need to connect this wire (#1) for my installation on the Toyota Matrix? HELP, HELP !!!
PS. There are 3 wires inside the metal mesh shield (#2).

Yes.

Yes, these are all safety grounds. Remember, this is a high voltage system, so there's a potential shock hazard if the safety grounds are left disconnected.

The only wires you need to connect to your car are the red and black wires that come out of the ballast for power. The rest either go somewhere in the light/ballast assembly, or are safety rounds that connect to the metal parts of the light assembly. This network of safety grounds should also connect to your car body somewhere near the lamp assembly.

shopdog, so should I connect wire #1 to some metal part on my headlight housing? Or can I just connect it to a grounding point near the headlight housing? Or can I leave wire #1 off completely?
Thanks for you comments!
