Is there any interest in a front splitter, made of aluminum, carbon fiber, or polycarbonate, for a nice accent or more importantly, shucking cones off the front before they hit the paint? I am thinking about making a prototype for my own Z as I auto-x about every weekend.
The Z is new in my garage, so I haven't had much time for this. My last car was yellow, and the cone rash really made it look like crap. I am also thinking of making a lower deflector for the area just in front of the rear wheels.
Both of these will likely only extend an inch or so beyond the bodywork, just for function. If anyone wanted a massive front lower splitter, that would be cool about 4" out with the longacre turnbuckle wing adjusters......
Just an idea, post if you have any comments. I work two doors down from one of the biggest custom Viper builders in the country, so pricing is pretty close. A buddy there just took over as shop manager, and he's trying to get them into higher end imports, like the Z, Evo, STi, etc.... If you have any other simple one-off items you've been thinking about, I may be able to help if you've exhausted what's currently available.
