Thumbs down Big Problem with "RACECREATIONS"-help!

[COLOR=red]Over July4 weekend, I paid big bucks for a cf hood on ebay from RACECREATIONS in Los Angeles. On 7/6, my phonecall to RACECREATIONS was immediately answered, and i was told my hood would arrive in 4-7 days. After waiting one week, i began leaving RACECREATIONS numerous emails and voicemails asking for a tracking # without any response. I went back to ebay and learned that RACECREATIONS was no longer on ebay. I began to panic, emailed ebay with my complaint, and received instructions from ebay the next day on the various options i had. Miraculously the same day, i rec'd tracking # from RACECREATIONS! DHL site said it would be delivered 7/16. 7/17 i called DHL and was told that tracking # was generated by RACECREATIONS, but item was NEVER SHIPPED!!!. I then rec'd email from "sales" at RACECREATIONS saying nothing more than that their ad on ebay says (said) they are not responsible for shipping delays.
Guys, I'm getting the royal runaround from RACECREATIONS. My credit card company requires a complaint to be filed within 30 days in order for them to credit my acct. I really dont want my money back just yet, though; I just want my G*DDAMN HOOD!!! For that reason, i'm willing to tolerate a certain amount of delay (29 days worth) because i got a good price on the hood, but needless to say, i'll NEVER buy from RACECREATIONS again!!!

So my question to you all is has anyone else had problems with RACECREATIONS? I'd also like to read any suggestions you all might have.

File the formal fraud complaint w/your CC company and get your money back. The fact that DHL told you that the seller made up the tracking number should be enough of a hint to you to get your money back ASAP...it doesn't sound like the hood is coming

Id say get with the credit card. youll let them recharge the purchase when you recieve the item, or have better proof of it. atleast your 30days will restart.

let me know what happens, cant say Im too happy if this person is suckering people with a name so similair to my own.

though it appears he's been using that name longer than myself, which is really weird. I dont remember when I first used it.

Do NOT... I repeat, do NOT... allow this to go on until the last day. It's ovious their giving you the runaround from the very first day, so what do you think they're going to be like in the end? How about if something is wrong with the hood and you try to get a replacement, or even a refund?

Saving a few dollars is NOT worth the hassle you're setting yourself up for.

RACECREATIONS IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!! Today, they sent me an email saying that dhl picked up the hood yesterday for shipping, "but since we received a charge-back from your cc company today, we'll have to cancel delivery". Did they say word one about the phony tracking #? NO!!! No apology, no explanation, no nothing. Neither did i receive a tracking # from dhl for this alleged pickup, so i know they are BSing me yet again. How can these guys stay in business with practices like this? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RACECREATIONS.COM!!!

They stay in business for two reasons:
1) There are plenty of people like yourself who are willing to let it go until the last minutes, essentially screwing themselves out of any reoslution in the end (lucky for you we were around to smack you back into reality ).
2) Minor products are purchased without incident, so a buddy is told how great So-and-So company is and how smoothly the transaction went. Of course, the buddy goes to buy something big (liek a hood), then promptly gets screwed.

In both cases, the company usually gets the money, and therefore is allowed to continue running a business.

You should NEVER judge the quality of a company by what one or two people say. Look at their track record, see if there are ANY complaints, and listen to the complaint with an open mind and a grain of salt. Ask yourself, is the person merely bitter, or do they have good reason to complain. If people did this more often, these fly-by-night companies wouldn't last more than a couple of months.

Damn! I also thought it was "Rase" which is ares. Indeed, it doesn't make sense since I can't imagine him doing that.

Actually guys, hate to burst your bubble but I doubt they did anything wrong.

I use that shipping company all the time, what happens is this. They give you a stack of envelopes and a stack of preprinted lables for them, the labels are registered to your company. That is why they said yes that is a number we issued to that company (meaning one of the block of prepaid stickers they get) but no we havent picked it up yet. Happens all the time when I go to check tracking numbers from the big 3 shipping co's.

If thier ebay said 4-7 days, well shame on them, but I seriously doubt that in this case they were trying to defraud you.

A friend of mine actually had something similar happen to him where the seller was in contact with him for a whole month, giving him stories/excuses about how the shipping got screwed up and sent to the wrong place, delayed, etc, etc, all the time just asking for a little more time and patience until after 30 days were up, at which point the seller just quit contact altogether. That's when my friend tried to get his money back through paypal/ebay and found out that there was nothing they could do AFTER 30 days. Last I heard he was trying to work it out with his Credit Card company.

Abomination,
RACECREATIONS gave me the phoney tracking #, not DHL! And the reason DHL never sent me a tracking # (X2) is that RACECREATIONS LIED TO ME X2 THAT THEY HAD SHIPPED MY HOOD!
