Default my Z on a diet ( 2988 lbs )

not sure if this is the correct place to put this thread in , but few people have asked me what have I done to lose the weight in my car...

Well , here are some pictures...
sure it doesnt look pretty , but it serves its purpose
my goal was to get this car under 3000 lbs and thats what I did...

when I hit 2988 lbs , my Z was without the passenger's seat..

That's incredible...I had no idea that stuff back there weighed so much. My spare is gone, but G/F would give me the stink-eye if I got rid of the passenger seat. What was the total weight reduction?

Looks like all the weight came out of the back. How does that impact the way the car drives?

dont have the exact numbers on the total weight reduction with me right now , but easily its going to be more than 200 lbs...
still I gotta get the lightweight battery and few other goodies ..

Kenny , it takes 3 minutes to put the seat back in , 4 screws ...
flashing air bag light is kind of pissing me off , gotta get my buddy to reset it...

my gf was bitching to about the alluminum look, but guess what , as long as im paying for my Z thats all she could do

just wondering why you dont remove the sound system or even a/c

i mean i can understand that the a/c serves its purpose but it seems that you are really serious about weight reduction

and yeh..that is pretty damn ugly...

Nice weight reduction -- Jenny craig would be proud... but why do all this and run on 19" wheels?

I dont think losing couple hundred of pounds will give you a noticeable difference while driving on the street....
At the same time that I was loosing the weight , I installed the exhaust , test pipes , pulley and Short Shifter , so I cant really say what impact dropping the weight had...

for the time being, this car is still my daily driver so I am keeping a/c and stereo , and will take them out only on track days..
as soon as I get my second car those things are gone permanently..
I know its ugly thx
