Anyone have either of the nismo harnesses listed on performancenissanparts.com? Just wondering on what you thought of them, or any other harnesses you have. Are there any that mount without a harness bar?

Thanks,
Bill

there is no safe way to mount a harness in the z without a harness/roll bar.

other harness, sparco/sabelt/williams/takata ... personally i will use takatas, bright green jdm goodness but they're entirely way too expensive; retail is $450ish a piece.

I couldn't agree more!

May I suggest a BCR Harness Bar?

a little off topic ...

are you going to be offering the bar powdercoated in different colors (black/body matched, etc)

i have sparco 3 points and i mounted them to the floor in the rear below the STB. people say dont do it this way, but when the belt comes over the speaker pods behind the seat and through the headrest it makes it a perfect horizontal line (which is what is recomended).

Those are only support points.....NOT load bearing!

With a BCR harness bar ALL the load is into the OEM shoulder belt mounting points.

You have created an inverted "V", which will create spinal compression.

Moroccan_Mole, Yes, I will offer different colored powdercoating, but body color matching will only be available though Zpresence.

BTW, I have black & silver available for shipment today.

PM for specifics.

FYI

The authentic NISMO harness is made by Willans.

Make sure you don't get a cheap eBay knockoff.

The NISMO is really nice, it has a central lock mechanism like one of the Scroth units.

IMO, BMW inspectors don't know sh*t!

PCA tech inspectors REQUIRE a harness bar or an equal bar in a roll bar/cage with competition belts.

Read the instructions from Sparco or Schroth harness's for KNOWLEDGEABLE info on belt mounting.

I've had enough back problems that I refuse to compromise my belt installation.

are you serious? that cover looks like it could pop out so easily with little pressure. even if it is held on strong that plastic could break off.

TOO SOFT BRO!

Time to rethink that.

ya i dont think it would be smart to mount it back there. it may seem fine, but if you hit a car going 40, your gonna be through the windshield.

well i guess you could have had something fabricated and welded some tubular steelto the frame back there, and then welded the plate to that. but still, i would go with a bar that mounts using the stock points.

Anyone use Sparco harnesses? And is there any reason nismo is better than sparco? The nismo are alot more expensive, but they seem to be oh so sexy.

I was considering where to put a harness bar. I did finally find a roll cage made by Cusco that looks like something I wanted. Look at these MS Paint pics and tell me which one you guy's think would be safest? The BCR harness is too high imo and obstructs view. There are a total of 4 different lines, I would only use one of those. So which one looks the safest/strongest/best/etc?
