Question Removed front grill, replacement suggestions?

I cut out the OEM grill when I installed my Vortech kit so that the IC was more visible. The more that I look at it, the more I am thinking it doesn't look all that good upclose. I am looking for suggestions about something to replace the grill that does not obstruct the view of the IC but still looks good. I don't like the grills that cover the OEM grill since they are not recessed. IIRC ACP did something like this that looked pretty good. Suggestions? TIA

Have you seen this one? it requires the oem grille to be cut out for installation. I have it and love it. http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...ode=4090-28177

You don't even know it's there, but it protects the intercooler.

Epoxy install.

I bought this stuff at home depot. it's called LATH MESH and comes in a 8ftx24inch sheet (something like that, you get alot). it only cost @$4.25 for the sheet. it is rigid yet manageable. something of considerable weight would have to hit this stuff to dent it in. this stuff is much more rigid than the gutter guard stuff that some people use. i have used it on many projects. also, it is made of aluminum so it won't rust!

same stuff up close

same stuff painted black

The warmer the day the easier it is to cut. it took about 1 hour to cut out the OEM and install the new one.

Intercoolers aint cheap. Most of us Z owners who have had our car for awhile have some nice rock chips all over our front bumper; Evidence of the damage that can possibly be done to anything unprotected behind the grill area.
Best to cover the grill up with something. I hate my grill. It looks cheap. If you take a look at the E36 M-3 it has a criss-cross mesh grill. I need to find some aftermarket stuff like that, because I think that that is the best look for a grill.
Billet chrome just isnt right. anything that looks heavy and metallic belongs on an SUV.

ether...I sent the bumper off to ATL to have the grill installed. I don't know the exact material used. Available in silver mesh or black as shown.

Contact sung@kbodyshop.com, he performed the install. Thanks for the compliment btw.

I agree with joust75...my shop didn't want a grill at all, but if you don't install something in there to catch/deflect the bugs and rocks that will inevitably find the intercooler....asking for problems IMO.

Thanks mgl ...good looking car you got there.
