I like it. I call my car "My Fairlady" that's her name. When people ask me what it means I just tell them the story of Mr. K and how much he liked the play "my fairlady" that he named one of the ten best sports cars ever, the 240z/ fairlady z after it. That was what Mr. K wanted for the car it was Nissans marketing department that messed it up.

I might be wrong, but I don't think the "fairlady" started with the 240. The Nissan dealer near me has a really old (think mid sixities) datsun sports car with a fairlady scripted badge on the side. They are in the process of restoring the car.
I also am straight, I do not refer to my car as a man or a woman, I prefer flesh and blood over inanimate objects.
My car is a "it", not he or she.

gringott, your correct it did start with the Datsun 240z (unless you want to get technical and include the Fairlady Roadster, which is another awesome car), I'm working on one (72') as a project car...will post pics when we are farther along. I'm not going to say much, but when it is done it will give our Zs a run for their money

I have the fairlady on mine. Occasionally I get comments and questions on it and explaining the story gets kind of old but I like how it looks. It just fits the car better. As far as it having the word "lady" it doesnt bother me. Most people name their car a girls name anyway so whats the difference? I like it

I just order those FairladyZ myself. I saw it on a used 2003 Leman Sunset and thought it looked awesome so that why I am getting it. I think it cool if some people think my Z is a different model. Heck, I've had people who don't know cars ask what kind of car is that including one who thought it was a Supra. I mean the car has been out 2 years now some people just don't know cars.
