i wouldnt trust the ones on ebay...cheap kits with a high price for the poor quality. 350zforums.org & hopupracing.com both carry this replica ing+ n-spec kit for under $1000, actually well under,shipped......both are the same manufacturer. the quality isnt like the original, thats what your paying for. plan to spend a few extra bux smoothing & fitting it to be like the original but still not too bad off a deal afer all is said & done......best of luck!

I don't mind knock-off and if I send 300 extra for the body shop to smooth it out it's not a biggy. But my main concern would be build quality. The last thing I need is to have the bumper crack or fall apart near the bolt holes.

its not only the smoothing you will pay for, its the fitment. getting it to look right as opposed to laying it on & lining up the holes like the original is what will cost you. this is where the time adds up @ XX.xx amount of dollars per hour. you can make the worst fitting kit look as good as the original if your willing to pay the addtional funds to get it there. somehow it seems to equal out in the end leaving you wish you had spent the extra money ofr the original kit....in most cases, not all.........

yeah, the rear bumper is very nice, notice how the lip around the fenders wraps all the way around the rear, that sweet edge just rolls all around.....the sideskirts are like this too, that pic doesnt do them justice. the front lip is a tab obtrusive to me(IMO) but the sides & rear are of my favorite!

the quality of fiberglass that is used is like night and day. ings, air walker, top secret, cwest, etc all use superior materials and can withstand small hits without breaking, high speeds, etc ...

for example, my air walker bumper/sideskirts and sarona fenders are both fiber glass. the air walker (bumper) is larger, thicker, more flexible (almost like urethane), and about the same weight, maybe a little less, as the sarona fender which is about 1/3 the size.

when you pick up the sarona fenders, which are the same quality as replica pieces (most of the time), they feel flimsy, brittle and cheap.

edit in this quote
It is an important and rarely known fact that Air Walker products are produced in a special blend of FRP that allows them to flex. This impressive production process allows Air Walker parts to twist in ways that regular fiberglass parts could never compare to, and in reality is very close to the flexibility of urethane, without the extra weight. Their extremely light production weight is representative of Air Walker's racing heritage.

Air Walker was founded and is owned by the founder/owner of Bride Japan, and keeping with the similarities, Air Walker is heavily rooted in Japanese Motor Sports. In fact, in Japan most of Air Walker’s production is designated for Motorsports team use. A famous and highly competitive Gymkhana S2000 driven by Yamano is one of many Air Walker equipped race vehicles.

agreed...the ones on Ebay are not genuine INGS but reproductions....which means you can take the install quote you get for the real kit and double it to be on the safe side, to get a perfect install. The real kits cost boatloads more cash, but their fit, finish and durability are well worth it if this is a car that gets used at all

Well put! I've skimped on cars in the past on body pieces & regreted it. I then purchased the original greddy gracer front bumper for my 92 300zxtt, it was far superior to the flimsy pieces I purchased prior to that. I swore from that point on that I would stay with authentic pieces as far as body pieces go to..........

On a side note & getting back to the ing kits, there is a very high qaulity kit that is a replica of the ing n-spec kit that is much more expensive than these ebay type cheap material kits yet still more affordable than the original. I'm sure you've heard of it, its the initial D kit. I've heard many good things about this kit. I'm not 100% sure but it may be a JDM kit, you'll have to research that...

If that's the case then scratch the info I stated about it, I didn't realize they were the cheap made kits, I thought they were a more affordable alternative yet still good quality.......I've seen the initial D kit on a SS z & it looked great. Mabey he spent some extra dough making it look right.. The owner was talking about the kit as if it were some serious JDM kit, I was mislead.........learn somthing new everyday, thanx!

I have the Initial D kit...actually ordered two of them...since my car was in an accident. I'd say the quality was about average. Definately required some TLC to get the kit perfect. THere was a bit of waviness to it. I spent $1900 for installation and prep, and about a grand for the kit. But it looked absolultely flawless after it was prepped....I got TONS of compliments on it. I still saved $2000 over what the orignal INGS kit would cost...not to mentioned a 30-90day wait for the parts.

Sharif, how did everything go with the body repairs on the z? Was it just body or was there any suspension damage as well? I think the initial D kit looks great on your car!
