I'd take them off for the same reason stated above. My vote goes for same color as the wheels

Good luck

Either that or buy new ones and have them painted so your not out of a car while the door handles are off. Plus if you don't like them you always have the originals, or put them on ebay.

devildoc...the spoiler was finished last week but I'm bringing it back when I drop my car off tomorrow night. They start working on it Monday...test fit and prep. I'm praying to God I don't get a call..."Rich, we have a problem", cuz then ill be mega PO'd. Ofcourse I'll post pics once done.

I don't know if i really want them taking the door panels off to get the handles off cuz im worried they wont put it back on right.

You don't have to take the door panels off to remove the handles. All you need to do is remove the rubber grommets and take the two 10mm nuts off (don't drop them down into the door or you will have to pull the door panel), and pull the handle off. There is a rod that is attached to the handle that will come out of the latch assembly (very simple you will see what I am talking about) unplug the drivers side power lock/window plug and you are right there. Very simple should take a moron at the most 15 mins to do. Most likely about a 5 min job.

Oh, and paint them the same color as your wheels. And what color is that anyway? I am thinking of painting my wheels also a darker shade of silver/gunmetal.

azaz...they were powdercoated a "gunmetal" type color from Performance Nissan.

Im wondering how a flat black would look on it. I don't know about the same color as the rims though...would be too weird i think.

Thanks for the reply.

I think a satin/semigloss would look better than flat. Would match your windshield wiper arms and trim around the door better.

I had mine painted gloss black and they turned out very well. Just make sure that they sand and scotchbrite every little crack and corner. Good luck in whatever you decide.

azaz....what was your first impression when you first saw your handles after being painted black? A lot of people say do it...while alot say the car will be too black. I want to go for the dark blacked out darth vader look..lol...someone called my Z "darth vader"

Why do you say sand and scotchcoat? Just so i know when I call them tomorrow to mention it.

its pretty cool imo...but i cant imagine how it can be that cheap

they gotta remove the handles, fill in the hole (lot of time) then paint at least half of the door and then they gotta install the electronic system

300 seems EXTRA cheap

I was immediately impressed with the way it looked. I took the handles off and also put them back on. So I seen them back to back. I have had lots of compliments from people on the handles and even one of my friends parents (that didn't know me) rode by my house and seen the car and went back to my friend and told him they had seen a 350Z with black doorhandles and told him how well it looked. I like things that blend more and while I like the handle silver on most other colors it just contrasted too much on the SB.

You need to sand and scotchbrite the handle really well to make the paint stick to the handle. Use the scotchbrite in the corners and hard to sand places to make sure everything gets sanded well.

You (or anyone else) wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the this would you? I'd like to replace my driver's side door handle.
