I have 04 Lemans Sunset coupe. How dark do you think I should go with my tints?? I also plan on smoking my tail lights to match. What do you guys think.

I found that with the darker tints (when you can't see the person inside during the day) it's scary driving at night especially if the front windows are dark. First, making a turn unless you roll down the window you can't see unlit things (like people, dogs, stuff in the street, etc) until you turn and the headlights since on them. Also, backing up is really hard since you can't see unlit things (even with the backup lights and if its raining its worst. You can roll down the windows but then the rain gets in. Anyways, with a darktint people can't see me during the day and I'm proud of my Z and don't mind others seeing me in it. Also in CA its illegal to tint the front side windows, but they'll usually not stop you if the tints light. Just my humble opinion.

my driver and passenger window are 15% and the small side ones and hatch are 5% (limo). it looks awesome, especially if you're going for the darker look with the smoked tails.

as for it being hard to see, for maybe the first night or two you'll be a little worried but you will adjust to it.

I agree ... go dark. I have 15% now and on all my other cars have had 15%. Never a problem at night.

Thumbs up

I had 15% on my last car with a black interior and it was hard to see unlit things at night. For this Z I might go 15% in the back and side, but lighter on the front 2 windows maybe 25%. And since I am NJ it is illegal to tint front here so a lighter tint they maybe not pull me over for it as much as a pitch black tint they might.

20% is still transparent. Id guess 15% is pretty close. backing up, I roll my window down ussually to see. open road though, I can see cars behind me and whatnot.

now 5%. that stuffs dark. wouldnt reccomend that for sidewindows unless you like seeing only bright headlights. for the rear, its alright... but take extra care changing lanes.

Default it's like driving with sunglasses at night

Here's two different perspectives of the same tint job. I live in AZ and tint is legal here on the side windows. Not as dark as mine but legal. I put a peice of limo over the factory tint job on the back and side windows... so they are about 2%. The side windows are 5%.

They are just fine during the day as it's usually bright as all hell here during the day so you need to keep your car dark inside it the sun rips it up. At night however I can't see a damn thing. Someone earlier mentioned you can't see people, dogs or even curbs when you're turning. It's true man. You can't see until it's in your lights. You'll find yourself leaning over to look out of your winshield to see if anything is there. Forget about backing up unless you're good at rolling down the windows and looking thru the side mirrors. I have a TV in my car and it reflects light on the inside of the windows and makes it even harder to see out of. Although, on a positive note I also have a back up camera in the A$$ end to see behind since this car has so many blind spots.

I wanted my windows dark enough so cops can't see me watching tv while driving. I drive to LA to a lot and watch movies while driving. Call me crazy... I'm entertained during the 5 hour drive.

Hmmm, my sides must be darker than 15%. My windows look darker on the sides. I know my rears are 5%.

The top picture is with the sun directly shooting into the windshield... so it doesn't look very dark. The bottom picture is with the sun away from the windshield and you can't see in my car at all.
