Your car is Sweet... I love the look of lambo doors on the Z. I really want to get some for my Z, but I'm worried about finding a reliable place to do the install. It's hard to find people you trust to work on my baby.

Honestly, I think a 5 lb weight to hold the door down will solve the problem completely. Another issue i'm having is when a girl gets into the passenger side she can't seem to close the door due to the shock. Well, I wouldn't consider this a huge issue since I can reach over and brush my elbow across her boobie to close the door.
The five pould weight might help but after only three days, they actually stay down by themselves now. The shock just needs seveal cycles to "break in" I guess. You do still need to apply pressure downward to close them though but I m getting the hang of it and it will eventually become second nature.

350 Mark. If you were a gentleman you wouldn't have that problem. You can close the door yourself.
Are you kidding? Screw being a gentleman when he can "brush boobie" instead!

how can i get tha door kit for 1050? i want in!
The group buy was over months ago but it wouldn't hurt to contact www.aspecmotorsprots.com and see what they say.

off topic: are you a doctor Dr bonz? what kind?
Yes, I am an orthopedic surgeon as someone posted. Get it? Bones=Bonz

Damn Dr... not feeling the lambo doors , but your Z shines !
To each his own. In that pic, the car is actually very dirty. I have since slapped on Zaino layers number 76, 77, and 78 over the weekend. It REALLY shines now.

How much weight did you sacrifice by doing this setup?
The box they shipped in weighed 35 lbs so you do give up a little weight. My Procharger should be able to make up for it though

Looks good, but I wouldn't have them. I haven 't seen any that don't require constant adjustment. Sorry to bust your bubble. Just my opinion.
Good point. I'll have to address that as it comes. I will post here in this thread if I need to get it done.

by the way, is your front bumper really look like that in person? cuz it doesnt match your factory paint( i think it might just be the angle in the pics)
Must be the angle. That IS the factory paint. Never had the bumper painted. I've never noticed it so it must just be the pic.

Bonz, i'm taking a stab in the dark here, but I assume you got these doors mainly for your son. Does he have a problem opening the doors without the ding?
My 11 year old son does like them. When I showed him for the first time, all he could say was COOOOOOOOOOL!!!

Thanks for all the comments. These are a really great mod. They are kind of expensive and don't add to performance but I can pretty much guess where the crowds are gonna be at the car shows. There is this big one held here on Father's day and there are over 700 cars. I guarantee none of them have doors like this!

They are definitely not for the faint of heart though. They take CONSTANT vigilence. You have to BE AWARE that they are there every time you open the door. It does get to be somewhat of a pain telling everyone to BE CAREFUL opening and closing them.

Also, if you don't like attention, pass on these. They are an automatic invitation to people coming up to you and asking you questions. In fact, if I'm in a hurry, I don't even flip them up. I just open them to the side like normal to save me from answering questions.

Yeah! People are usually very nice and they apologize for "bothering" me. I LOVE talking about the car but if I need to be somewhere I keep them a secret!

Bonz,

I didn't intend to sound so negative about the doors. I like the way they look and they sure get alot of attention. I have seen two 350s at car shows in the last six months that had the lambo style doors. Both got lots of attention. However, both had problems with the doors opening and closing properly.

The first one I saw was a Lemans Sunset with a hot Velside body kit. Apparently the door had fitment issues because the interior trim on the door was torn where it was rubbing on something near the hinge.

The second car I saw was a Silverstone 350. Apparently his doors fit better than the first car I saw, but the owner told me that he was constantly having to adjust the door with an allen wrench to make them close properly. He was worried about damage to the inside of front body panel. He also said that you had to be careful when opening and closing the doors.

That being said it sounds like you did your homework and had a better installation. Hopefully you will not have those kinds of issues. Keep us posted.

As I stated in my initial post, Andy's input was invaluable. If you follow all of his recomendations it should go smoothly.

Basically in my first post in this thread. I think that was most/all of it. You can also search the thread he posted using "lambo doors" as your search words. There may be some more there but I don't remember.

I've had my Decah kit for almost a year now, still no adjustments necessary...

Yeah; I never really open mine up vertically unless someone I know is asking me about it or I'm at a show. It really begins to set in your mind as commonplay that all cars should have . Doors that are limited to horizontal movement become hackneyed :P.

I finally got around to taking some better pics of the doors after I had the car all cleaned up:
