The Dr Bonz Lambo Door Experience
#109
Just an update on the doors. It has been a few months now and the doors are still working perfectly with no need for any adjustments. Now that it is cold, they almost close normally. If it warms up however, you still need to apply a little downpressure when you close them to avoid the KLUNK that Andy...er....I mean "Lowna" mentioned.
It's almost time to put the Brick to bed for the winter though. Today is Thanksgiving and the snow was a-flyin' all day here. No accumulation but they are starting to salt the roads and that means it's time for hibernation.

Let me second what Bonz has said... My doors have been on slightly longer than his and my report is pretty much identical. Only issue I've had to date is with people not familiar with the doors hitting the A-pillar with inner door panel... a well documented issue. Still pondering a door panel solution for that one.
for those asking for more pics. Here's one more from the photoshoot. (sorry, not posting anymore unless I get the OK to do so... the good news is we're supposed to do another shoot in the spring. Definitely at a better location and possibly swimsuits!!! )

Yeah, Andy. I was thinking of some kind of "bumper" to go on the part of the door that hits the A-pillar if someone flips the door up too soon. It will have to be rubber or something soft and should match the color of the liner of the door. It should be low profile so as not to stick out too much.
Any ideas?

We're thinking of "cupping" out the upper door panel below the speaker. Waiting on second set of door panels before I start experimenting. My interior is all black, grey, and brushed metal... so I'm thinking some brushed metal inserts on the door panel may fit my interior theme well.
If I go that route, we're hoping the cupped area will completely clear the A-pillar and never again hit. Otherwise, we were considering some king of bumper like you suggested, Bonz.

I'm just waiting on a door panel to get started. I think I can match the contour of the door panel with 1/8" aluminum, make a real nice cover for the corner and still have it finished to match the factory stuff in there. If I get McDuck's done are you in for a set too Bonz? I know you two have twins and didn't know how far you two wanted to take that. See ya

Well, either your door panels would have to be here or you'd have to buy an extra set. Let us get mine worked out first. If you like, then we can make arrangements. This will be done before ZDayZ 2005 and I still need to talk to you about coming down again!
