Default Anodizing Door Handles??

Has anyone had experience (either good or bad) trying to get your door handles anodized?

It would be a lot more wear-proof than paint but color-matching isn't very possible.
Nonetheless, I think deep black door handles would look good on any color...

Any thoughts?

as far as i know our door handles are plastic. Nissan used a paint to make the handles look and feel like they are metal. And you can only anodize metal. I could be way off on the door handle thing, so jump in and correct me if I'm wrong.

well; I made an interesting observation this weekend...they may be plastic; but their magnetic... took some little yellow ribbon magnet and stuck it to the door handle; not sure why. but whatever; it stuck. not very well; but it stuck.

maybe it was just attracted to the metal hardware behind the handle; hard to say. but if there are traces of metal in that paint; perhaps you could anodize that. anodizing doesnt require heat, just need a metal capable of being anodized and for it to carry a current; which you could test with a simple meter. can they anodize something black though?

They are plastic... maybe the magnet was sticking to metal inside the handle as i'm sure there's probably a metal frame... as well as the hinges/springs... lock cylinder...

yeah; I know their plastic; but there was some question as to if the paint had a metal additive in it since it really does feel like metal(cold to the touch).

but you may be right.
