I noticed that on all the Nismo front lips the grills also look different. Is that something that comes with the kit or is it a whole bumper that is replaced? Can you get that grill piece seperately

From what I understand, the JDM nismo front kit replaces the whole front bumper, so the grill has a horiz line across it. The US Spec one is only a add-on lip, so you keep your oem bumper.

 

Is there any plans for them to release the JDM Nismo bumper here in the states?

 

Not that anyone has heard. JDM (signifying Japanese Domestic Market?) parts will stay that way. They used the same material as the bumpers for all parts in the US market. Tryt looking for an import, also some quality replicas out there. Try Performance Nissan on this site for the JDM bumper.

 

JDM is made by Fiberglass which will never pass crash test in the US.
So Nismo USA released only lip in same material with stock bumper. they have no plan releasing full bumper in the US.
If you want full bumper, you can contact Jason@performance (as FstQban said) to get REPLICA (not the genuine JDM) Nismo JDM bumper.

 

So most of the Nismo front bumpers Ive seen on this site is the JDM version, not the USDM?

 

yes, if you see bumper with center fiberglass piece crossing the grill, thats jdm.
usdm is just lip under your stock bumper.

 

No plans at ALL to sell the JDM front lip here in the States.

 

The JDM NISMO Front Bumper is Fiber Glass. There were none made in Urethane that were ever sold.

The USDM NISMO Front Lip is Urethane. It is not available overseas and we sell them to people in Japan all the time. USDM is the stylee over there.
