Default have u put the front license plate on?

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty new to this forum and the Z experience. I picked up my LeMans Sunset Enth Z this weekend and insisted that the dealer not put the front plates on. I'm in NY and it is required by law to have the front plate on. For those of you in NY (or other states w/ similiar laws), what have you done? I've heard of people putting the frame in the grill. How is that done? I drive in the boroughs every now and then, and there are always cops around, and I really don't want to be funding NYC's budget deficit...so any opinions, would be appreciated!

you can buy the strictly Z license plate adapter. or you can make one... someone on the forum posted a DIYer a while back.

or you can just use zip ties at no cost(if you already have them). use black ones if you dont want to look ghetto, and just snip the excess. i had mine in the windshield with 2 suction cups(supposingly rear[with hooks]).

I'm in CA and we are required to have the front plate as well but I chose not to put mine up. I've driven by many cops and I'm sure they notice the missing plate but none has been an #ss and given me a ticket. I figure it's a fix it ticket and I'll consider putting the Z-brackets if I do get pulled over... knock on wood...

Default front plate

I had mine mounted on although not by the dealer . . . my mounting bracket was in the cargo net when I took delivery. So, last week when I had my Nismo wing put on I did the following:

My Body shop painted the mounting bracket, my metal license plate frame and the frame screw caps in silverstone to match the car - it looks super clean and flawless.

I thought about going without, but with my 14% tint I was concerned about getting a double whammy fix-it ticket.

I'm pleased with how it looks - will post pix when I get some.

I finally installed my Zee-Bracket after buying it from Courtesy a few months ago.

Installation is easy, and the plate is secure.

Pat, if you want a pic of a car with a Hawaii plate and your bracket, I'll be glad to send one to you.

Cops can Kiss my hairy A$$, I have never see a Corvette with a front plate on and they don't get bugged. They can pull me over all they want, I'll just put something temporary to get the ticket dropped and take it right back off.

But I found out two things in my life about this:
1) They only pull over hoptez for this
2) They'll only pull you over for this if you are a cruising the "strip".

Sports cars rarely get hassled by this law in WI.

Bought the Strictly Z one also. Quick and easy to install and it's pretty clean (as clean can get with a front plate )
