You probably can't afford it now that you have those spiffy hinges on your car. Sorry.

LOL!

not to start anything with the guys with the decah kits but ive heard some bad things bout them....also seen it on a car...u have to basically turn sideways to get inside the car, the difference with that kit and the vert. doors kit is a big difference...meaning the amount of space u have to get in and out. And one more thing is the decah kit is not made to fit the car...it is a universal kit, i could be wrong but i dont think i am. The vdi kit however is made specifically for the z.

To be fair, the Vertical Door kit is not a simple bolt-on kit either. It requires quite a bit of modification to fit properly and without problems.

now those are some vertical doors. those look better than any kit out there and really they are not priced that bad. how was the installation of that kit or did you have someone do it for you.

My brother is working on this right now on his M3. He's saving up the money for it, its kinda pricey. The install requires 4 actuators (2 per door, obviously), and shaved door handles w/ poppers. First the poppers go, then the first actuator initiates, when it is done a relay has to be activated letting the second actuator know to fire, and then the second actuator fires. to close, everything is done in reverse, except the door cannot fully close by itself, so the lateral actuator (the one that fires first when you are opening the doors) cannot close all the way, and you have to do the final pull/push on the doors yourself.

Also, as far as the autloc deluxe kit goes, it is a waste of time. It only uses two actuators, because the kit is only 50% motorized and 50% manual. You have to open the doors yourself and extend them to the full extent manually, and then you flick a switch and they open on a motor at a sloooooow speed. Then you flick the swicth again to close them and when they reach the bottom you have to pull them back in yourself again.

Yeah, the decah kit has indeed presented a good bit of problems, but I havent noticed some of the ones that you mention here. For one, the thing with turning sideways when getting into the car is BS. Its real easy to get into the car when the doors are up. I can even get into the car without even putting the doors up just by extending them outward.

You are correct that the decah kit is a universal mount and not made for the 350z. In some cars this presents quite a problem, while in others it is less significant. For example, when the M3 when in to get the decahs installed, the shop had to rebuild a brand new post to install them on, and BMW doors and stereotypically heavy so that put a lot of weight on the hinge. As a result, the shop took damn near 3 months to get the car back. On the other hand, when I asked JPizzed how long his took (he has a 350 with decahs) he told me it took less than a week.
