Thumbs up LeatherSeats.com

I recently purchased two complete seat sets (seats and headrest), shift boot, and door armrests replacements from LeatherSeats.com . I asked them to include an installation kit as I was planning on doing the job myself. The person I spoke to on the phone helped me choose the right variation after informing him what look I was going for, but his advice lost him a few dollars here and there while making sure to the best of his abilities that I would be completely satisfied.

The first things I noticed about these seats when I received them was the exceptional quality and perfect color matching to what I wanted and saw online on their website. After using these seats for about a month now, I love the feel of the leather, the perfect fit, durability, and color choice.

The first seat took me about 8 hours by myself and made me insanely furious . The second seat only took 2 hours as I had already gained some valuable insight. Once everything was installed I took both seats out and tightened them back in.... twice (three in all, per seat). I fixed majority of the beginner issues I experienced, but one issue with the fitment of the seat, which I later learned was my installation error, was still bothering me.

I emailed one of the representatives from the company to inform him of the problem. I sent him pictures of the fitment issue and the normal seat for comparison. He tried his best to help me find the problem and fix it online. When all this had failed he offered to drive down to Texas from Oklahoma in order to fix the isue himself. Here is the part that blew me away though - he asked for gas money only without charging me the install cost.

He drove down here (about a 4-5 hour drive) on Saturday, took both seats apart and put them back together. Drove me to the hardware store when we needed extra bolts to replace some that I had stripped earlier (without knowledge). And then ended up driving back home after dark.

After spending about five hours, due to the stripped bolt issue and conversation, I must say that if he is a representation of the guys that work there (he is a limited partner in the business) this a great a bunch of people to transact business with, and it is very rare that I say this about a company nowadays.

From start to finish I had a perfect client experience with LeatherSeats.com and would highly recommend this merchant to anyone looking for leather accessories for their vehicles!!!

a few questions-
1) were the problems you ran into upon installation due to lack of quality on the products or because you goofed somewhere in the installation process?
2) now, after the tech came down and worked with you, everything fits correctly with your seats?
3) did you buy two-tone, and how much did you pay?
4) do they offer any form of a warranty?

This is a mod I was looking into doing on my car in the future so I was hoping to get some insight from someone that has already done it. A friend had recommended Katzkins to me, but I have already read a few threads saying good things about Leatherseats. Maybe your experience can offer me some more good info--

1) The problems I ran into upon installation were due to my inexperience and my installation mistake, not the quality of the product. There were also some vague points in the install directions that I have notified them of and they should fix, even though most people will figure these out by common sense.

2) After the tech came down and re-installed the seats, yes, everything works and fits perfectly.

3) I did not buy two tone as I figured that with a S.S. and med-red leather a two tone might make the look complicated and hence not match cleanly.

I got in on a group deal so I saved some money, but their prices are listed as $679 for both seats - I believe. Check their websites for exact pricing.

4) I remember asking this question in the beginning and I do believe that they offer either a 5-year warranty or lifetime. I would call them to make sure before ordering.

Let me know if I can be of further help...

$ 679 for two full seats. They come preassembled and you just have to remove your stock seats and put these in?? I might be very interested in this. Post PICS

No, You dont buy seats, you buy the leather covers for the seats. You keep your own stock seats and simply rewrap them. The $679 is the price of the leather re-wrapping, then you also have to pay for installation, or you can try and install them yourself (and I think you have to buy an installation kit which is like 25 bucks)

Default PICS

I have a phone camera that I can use. While it is better than most phone cameras, the colors might seem a bit off and the quality might not be as sharp, but hey... I guess its better than nothing, right.

I'll try to get some good pics in adequate light tonight and post them. I will get the pics on here as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT:
I did not know that the hog rings should not be too tight on the leather as it will create creases from overstretching the leather. That is the main reason why the tech took my driver's side seat apart again to attempt to remove those creases. The creases are dissappearing, but are somewhat still there. - Just take this into consideration when viewing the pics and installing leather.

Default You Asked For the Pics, You Got 'Em

Sorry for the horrible quality pics. I used a cell camera as I don't currently have a good solid digital camera.

Detail of the leather up close:

Armrest:

I was looking for a subtle embroidery on the headrests:

A good example of what the seat looks like. I think the color in person is best portrayed through this photograph:

A large majority of the creases viewed in the photographs should disappear after a few months in the heat/cold.

I overstretched the leather upon initial installation, so some of the creases after fixing it are still apparent. Those should go away too.

Enthuziast, thank you for the compliments!!! There are more pics and information over at www.**********.com - check out the reviews and pics there.

VandyZ - Thank you also!

I'm glad you guys like the color. One of the things I like about the leather is that it seems different in various shades as does the silverstone. I really like the way everything matches up now.

I was planning on going Imola Red or medium red on Silverstone!

And to think I was the only nut that would think this color combo would look good. Nice choice!

Might have to do a two tone red and charcoal or something along those lines now.

You have good taste!
The medium red/imola red was exactly what I was going for in the beginning. I debated long and hard on how that was going to look inside the Z. Since the bringing an extra color (a gray matching the silverstone color) was not evident in the Z's interior I decided on just going with medium red in order to have a simple yet sophisticated design approach.

I still think that the medium red with a gray two tone would look good though!

yeah the thing that inspired me was seeing cars like the Aston Martins and even the S2000. It didn't matter what color the exterior was but having the seats a deep red made them so sexy.

I figured if a silverstone Z can look good with pumpkin orange, of all colors, a medium to deep red would look killer.

BTW: Do you have any close shots of the armrests and shiftboot? Having those pieces matching the seat never really cross my mind before but now its a definite possibility.
