has got too make sub categories. I wished it was simpler, with fewer directories.

I think the fine-grained categories are an excellent way to keep things organized. The only problem is that, because less users tend to traverse deep within the forum hierarchy, it is difficult to get a lot of responses to a "buried" thread. For example, my recent thread in the Interior forum is probably going to languish and expire...

Maybe we should post a poll?

IF you were looking for data the the extra forums are nice, but if your posting it looking for replies this may be harder..

Thats probably what it is.. A big catch 22 I guess..

Either way if consenous wants it simplified then we will simplify it..

or just throw it all into one thread, remove the new thread option, and make everyone search for their subject

Something like that what if the subforums were used as sort of an archive..

People post in the top level forum then after the topic has been beat to death move it to the sub..

Dont know but thats just some thought..

isn't that what the new post button is for? that way people can see what has been talked about since their last visit, including new threads and threads that have had more posts added since their last visit.

no, the view new post button is different from the new topic button, that opens a whole new thread. something that too many people do way too often rather than search for an already open topic on the same subject
