Default Please restore the previous thread layout

This new thread layout is very bothersome. The flow of post content is constantly perturbed by large fields of whitespace. Identifying a poster by his avatar is easy and instantaneous; devoting this much space to the poster's name and info is unnecessary. The new color scheme is a bit garish compared to the old one. Finally, it appears that certain elements (like the "Edit" and "Quote" buttons) are mismatched.

Shiva (isn't feeling these new smilies, either)

I agree that wtih the way the user name/avatar/info is displayed there's a lot of wasted space, and is bothersome. I like the new colors and the edit/post buttons are fine by me. The best part is that the forums are like 10x faster for me than they used to be. I love that.

i agree with the avatar/info bar deal, and i liked the darker colors from before. i'm sure everything will come to be perfect soon as everything gets to be up and running and troubleshooted and what not.

I'm sure Kyle has a LOT of work left to do, plus he'll probably do some different layouts for those who don't like this.

I'll throw out my opinion as well, really don't like the new layout. Discussions don't flow like they should. And the fonts seem to be excessively large.

I agree with shivak and the others. The avatar and user info was better off on the left hand side. The current design really interrupts the flow of the text/discussion. The layout is also a little "busy" and too colorful.

I thought the old layout was perfect!

I do like the ability to close forums I don't normally read.

I actually like the look better. It's more modern, and it's different. I know for a fact that there is a mod that you can make to VB3 (off vbulletin.org) that allows an option to be put in every user's control panel so that they can revert it to the left side or upper.

What Kyle should do is that he should enable that option, and then go thru the SQL database and update ALL user records to change everyone back to the left-side option, and also set that as default for new registrations. And then those of us, like me, who prefer it on the upper portion, can change it on an individual basis.

i hate having to scroll all the way to the right just to change pages. if you're in a thread that has 200 hundred pages then it becomes annoying. THAT REALLY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

I agree on the disrupted flow. Everything else (including SPEED) is GREAT in my opinion!!!!!!!!! I love the site. The only thing I'd change is go back to having the avatar and user info on the left side. Threads flowed better that way IMO.

The admins haven't even started messing with it yet, everyone be patient, this is exactly how it looks when it starts out, he's got quite a few things to do (avator, custom user title, change the layout, 10 character limit off (lol...maybe not, i'm trying to convince them), etc.).

When are E-mail notifications and adding pictures going to work? Thumbnails are cheezy.

The thumbnails is standard on the software, i'm not sure you can even change that. Check your options, email notifications should be working, I wouldn't know though, I haven't gotten an email from this site since my first week as a moderator...Kyle's trying to figure out what's wrong (mine AND yobri's both aren't getting any emails and if we do, they are ~ 1 week late).

Same problem with the e-mails. When the site was down for a few days I kept gettin new e-mails of people posting. I kept getting all excited that the site was back. I am still getting e-mails from posts from 2 weeks ago! LOL

BTW, I like the new smilies...kinda. This one is my favorite. Looks like the halloween mask of the scream guy getting high in scary movie.

I really hope when they fix the e-mail and signature problem, I do not get 1000 e-mails, LOL!
