Default Tech Area Suggestion

Mods - can we get a sub-forum for drivetrain/tranny please? It seems like there is alot of info buried in several different places related to both the 6MT and 5AT for NA and FI cars. Some of our forum members are working on some pretty exciting stuff on the 5AT and perhaps even a 6MT swap. It would be great if it were all under one sub-forum.

Thanks!
Ron

One of the reasons that there is stuff buried in both places is that the FI guys tend to post all their questions in that group, whether it's related to intakes, exhaust, transmissions, etc. They're not going to post in a separate Tranny sub-forum.

When you consider that intake, exhaust and FI are already separated out, the main thing left for the top level is transmission and diffs plus the occasional misc. questions.

JMHO - The ultimate decision rests with the administrators anyway.

i think it may be beneficial to add a trans section also. there have been MANY posts about what type of clutch to use for what power level and driveability. i think it may help to be able to have all this info in one spot. there is getting to be so many choices that it took me 3 weeks to choose on a clutch. if not a separate section, then even just a sticky in the f/i section about clutch and drivetrain to keep the info in one area. there is even a sticky on how to install a turbo timer. i think a clutch and drivetrain sticky is far more important and helpful. hopefully you guys will consider it.

Don't want to overstate my case, but I believe there is much more information on drivetrain/tranny than nitrous kits. No disrespect to those with nitrous of course.

Members will not post racing in the racing forum or intake in the intake forum. So I doubt they will post directly to a drivetrain/tranny forum. I wonder what percent of all posts mods must move? 50? This just adds another forum for members to misuse.

It's not that bad but I do move quite a few every time I visit the forum. Just look at the basic "350Z" forum where most people start out visiting, there you DO see a lot of moved posts.
