Default "using the SEARCH button.. " getting OLD

just a quick observation, its getting really OLD with people telling others to use the SEARCH button...

Its so bad now that when i DO use the SEARCH button I mostly find threads telling others to use the SEARCH button. WTF??

its turning into a visious circle.. \

INSTEAD of telling people especially newbies, to use the search button couldnt they just post the relaveant thread?

every time someone uses the word SEARCH it makes for more usless threads.

Is there any way to filter search results to leave out threads tellin you to use the SEARCH function??

ok thats all

It's too much effort to search for the appropriate thread, copy the url and put it in a post. That's the original poster's job, not ours. Telling them to use the search button tells them that their question is a common one, many people have contributed information on their topic previously, and any new information would be redundant.

/not a rEpost, but I've never gotten in on a thread early enough to contribute

An R? Like, as in REPOST? You know I'm the Guerilla Cheif of the Underground anti-REPOST police movement!

Hey I'm with you on that because this is a forum. If I wanted to find the answer by searching for it, I would have used google. But I'm in the minority on this one I know.

I've answered this question 20 times! Nobody of consequence.

I just made it up when I was creating a yahoo account that I'd use to sign up for sites and get buried in spam.

yea i figured they would,

my main point was that when searching turns up threads on searching, teling you to search doesent it get old??

i dont see why this should make people unhappy/ upset/ sad ect..

it has simply been my expierience latley, thats all nothing more.

search is a great function for sure

I understand what your saying, however most times when I tell someone to "search" I dont add a link as there are usually 15-20 Threads related to the issue/question at hand....
