Default whats up with all the "make offer" threads lately?

most of the clasified threads are turning into a silent auction instead of clasifieds. every thread i go into letely asks to make offers. all this is designed to do is take the highest offer without actually auctioning it off on the site. and i think its bull**** myself.

if you want it to go to the highest bidder then put it on ebay.

i really think it should be made a rule in the ToU that you must place a price in your for sale thread

Really? I believe it's within someone's right as a seller to ask for offers. I don't think this should reasonably be regulated by moderation. It stifles the community to have moderation of these sorts.

i dont see it that way. you are the seller. im the buyer. you list a price and i accept. i shouldnt have to be the seller as well..

in some cases i understand. like say you have no idea what its worth and you say "hey i dont know what this thing is worth you guys give me some offers"

but thats rare. you as a seller know the minimum you will take for a part. we as buyers shouldnt have to guess what you will sell it for

the poll speaks for itself. Sometime it gets annoy with "make offer". Just simply post your asking price and people will go from there.

Yeah that's true, but sometimes you don't know the "going price" at the time. I mean, the current demand for a certain item may be down, so you don't want to overprice it and have people flame you for it either. Personally, I think it's fine to get offers, then use that to determine what the price should be. That's what I did with the Tommy Kaira emblem--I had no idea how much it was really worth, but I didn't take the absolute highest offer. I sold to the first person who PayPal'd me the price that I thought was reasonable (which like I said, was not the highest price).

there is a different between you don't know the price of your item and you want people to bid for it. I think this thread is about member that want to sell as Ebay method.

Looks like most of the items poseted with a price end up being a bidding war anyway. I really don't see a problem with "make an offer" ads. You as the buyer know what you are willing to pay.

We As The Buyer Shouldnt Have To Sell Your Item As Well. This Isnt Ebay. You Want To Get Bids On It Then Pay For A Listing At Ebay.

You Want To Sell It In The Forum? You Post A Price.

Pretty Simple Really.

But The Mods Have Already Spoken And Said Forum Rules State A Price Must Be Posted

So This Thread Really Has No Reason For Being Open Still

the opinion is irelivent. as RULES STATE TO LIST A PRICE. this isnt ebay. its not my job as the buyer to give you a selling price. it is however your job as the seller to tell someone what you want for the part.

that is the whole part some of you dont seen to understand

I think you said that before, your comment is redundant.

I never stated that I didn’t understand, did I? I expressed my thoughts on the subject. Sorry to have pissed you off.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment “perfect example”, never really thought I was, however my wife says I have a few flaws.
