Maybe there's a cardinal rule against this but I'm too lazy at the moment to look. But why do you vendors always pm people pricing instead of just listing it. I mean isn't everyone going to get the same price. I think it would save yourselves and the consumers alot of time by just stating the price. Again, it might be against policy to do that so that's the only logical explanation I could come up with. But I think it would be nice. Sometimes it takes you guys awhile to pm us back. anyways , just curious it's a nice suggestion I think moderators and vendors...
there are MAP pricing. We can only advertise the parts at a certain % off MSRP. Anything less and they will drop you from being a manufacture. Another reason is for shipping quotes, especially with large parts.

Forum leaders shouldn't have to tell a seller or a business exactly how to disclose prices to potential customers.
With all due respect it's a stupid idea.. You can always call a vendor which is what i always do if i want a price ASAP.

MAP is one of the main reasons why most companies cannot post pricing. Basically manufactures set rules to vendors stating that you cannot list an item below MAP pricing.
The MAP pricing is a good concept where it makes vendors sell it at the normal market price.
There are different discounts in which vendors buy their product at. Usually to get the deepest discount you have to move a lot of their items, or make a huge initial purchase. This level is usually considered a wholesaler.
The next level up is usually jobber. This is mainly for the shops that do not specialize in that product line and need to purchase a few here and there.
To make the playing field even, the MAP pricing was established so the deeper discounted vendors will not sell the items below what the other vendors can get it for. On top of that it keeps the market from being saturated with their product being sold at a margin where you cannot make a fair profit. Without a fair profit margin, shops will not be able to stay open.
Another reason why it is good to PM is because you can get the one-on-one relationship, in which your questions will be answered specifically for what you are asking about.
