Does anyone now wonders as to why did pros like Phunk or TurboTim never did bother to waste their $$ on sponsorships?
If you're good, you're good, then the word of mouth from the custumers will make you known at these forums. It's only cheapening to one's reputation to stoop to the level of nickel-and-diming and whored out threads...
Just my opinion.

I agree, in order to be successful at sales you have to be aggressive as well as proactive, if you are waiting for people to come to you, then sales is not your thing.

If anyone here isn't willing to report people, then why complain, thats life man, everybody wants the unfair advantage. I think its chicken **** to complain about something you won't help fix especialy after knowing there are people on the site willing to listen and lend a hand.

I disagree. In this case, the partshippers have an unfair advantage b/c all that they do is sit on their computers, shoot PM's and bump their threads every 2 seconds. This is SPAM by definition.
This is not fair to people who actually have to do mechanical work on top of internet sales. In the realm of car customizing, this should be more about loyalty, friendship and comradery, not cutting each other off.
It is shops like Forged Internals, MRC, Performance Motorsports, CJM, AAM, VRT, SFR, everyone else that I've missed, that have helped the Z evolve into one of the most capable imports on the market today. Not these countless jackasses with a computer and a closet full of boxes.
Just my opinion.

I've been seeing a shrink. He has also helped me get over my phobia of mild FI on stock motors...
I did include VRT in the shops list...

Hope to see MRC back in the future, maybe once some new laws are laid down.

What really confuses me is the logic behind the whole nickel-and-diming by the buyers that feeds the vulture salespeople.
Don't they realise that they'll get anally raped by the shop for every nut and bolt and fluid during the install if they did not purchase the parts through him?

I heard somewhere you like the **** rape, so I guess thats no big deal.
We tend to have our pricing pretty much set in our shop, and stick to our guns with it. If someone starts the old, "joe blow" down the street can do the job for $200 less, then I tell them to go to "Joe Blow". Cause my price is my price.Once you ***** out your services in your shop to compete with online prices, your pretty much taking away from the level of customer service you may have had, cause it becomes a game of quantity work over quality work, but most customers dont see it that way.
We do charge customers who bring parts in more than part purchased at our shop, but thats our way of controling the quality of parts and installs we do at our facility. So basically if you bring us some crap you purchased on ebay, that fits like crap and will break in 3 weeks...We will basically get paid really well for our time, casue we know the car is gonna be a boomarang and unfortunately have our name on it..

I respond to the thread asking for more details on their product and pricing, etc.

Along comes a PM from Vendor #2 offering to sell me their stuff.

What bothers me is Vendor #2 should start his own THREAD about his product and let people contact him.

I view these vendors as pretty low and their PMs as being the same as SPAM emails.

Get some honor among yourselves. If you have a good product and a competitive price, people will buy from you. Spam people and no one will buy from you.

End of my rant, just had to get that off my chest.

What the hell is the big deal. Wouldn't you LIKE to get offered several offers and choose the best one?

You should take it into your own hands to PM vendors then and not publicize your "precious" selling opportunity then.

EDIT: As a matter of fact it would be effective if all sponsor posting on normal forums for the release/marketing of a product be prohitbited and solely kept on the classifieds section. Your system of "honor and loyalty" cannot work 100% on a public forums anyways but this may keep the level of "cheater sellers" on the minimum.

If i were a vendor i'd be happy as **** if one less other vendor (such as julian) left the forums for more sales opportunities.

As I tried to argue earlier, this may win a you a few bucks here and a few cents there. In the end this is hurting the real innovators, b/c they will have to be locked in this idiotic rat race of pre-made bold-on sales. Then the whole Z scene suffers. If the shops that have actually been making strides in Z aftermarket decide to go elsewhere, then what?
