I really miss the street race forum. My opinion is that street racing is going to happen no matter what. No matter how many times you tell kids or adults to keep it on the track, street races will happen.

For me,, i really dont like to street race. I was once burned pretty bad for racing on the freeway.( crashed my brand new car doing 130+). So, since then i never race on the street. But i sure do love to read about how our 350'z our faster than a lot of other cars on the road.

Soon as I come to work, i used to visit this site, then go to the street race forum. When i read about how our car is faster than,, lets say a really high class luxury vehicle... just brightens my day a little faster.

get used to it, most forum don't have them. Is a way to get tracked by authorities. It also makes the forum look like they are supporting street racing.

true it is gonna happen regardless, but then were gonna get alot of bs, and bs stories, and probably even ppl that will race just to post it on here. as "cool" as it may b to the fast and furious crowd, its not "mature" so to say, bcuz theres alot of dumb $hit that can happen that cause alot more accidents/death etc, more so then a racetrack.

wtf ... So you think because people are inherently going be stupid we should just endorse it... and possibly promote some fool into racing his Z against an Evo, and possibly kill my sister or mom on the road. Nobody is denying the fact that racing can be fun... most of us just realize at a certain age (me a younger than most), that the few negative outcomes farther outweigh the vast positive. Take it somewhere else man.

i dont believe street racing forums promote anything. It's just a form of entertainment to me. Some read the paper in the morning, I happened to have read the street racing stories. Simple as that.

and as for the opinion of people are going to do it anyways...

If the street racing forum doesn't come back then the members here shouldn't freak out if somebody mentions a race or a kill in an off topic thread IMO.
The street racing thread was full of trolls and bs for sure, but at least it was contained in one place mostly. Now the bs is spreading to other forums which is to be expected.

 

WE KNOW THAT....its like saying "but people are going to rape little girls no matter what" .. so sshould we have a forum on it too, since we cannot control it ??? We understand that people are inherently going to make bad decisions... LIKE I ALREADY SAID... A forum like this represents the masses when police etc visit them. We are giving the image that we promote and gossip on how we blow the doors of such and such the other day while driving to school. Personally Im sick of people like this ruining my fun. I cannot feel safe modding/driving anywhere because I think I'm going to get pulled over and ticketed constantly. Cops will be bias as they cannot separate the smart drivers from the stupid street racers based on looks. We then all take the fall for a small fraction of people who are making us all look bad. Understand that by having a forum dedicated to street racing .. it directly promotes it. The mods have came to a smart decision that maybe not everyone agrees with, but we should all respect. Try loose a friend to street racing and then come back and tell me how you feel on the matter. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Agreed 100%.. Maybe the admins could start a section that does directly promote street racing, since that seems to be the key factor here. Suggestion, call it "My Z's faster than yours", or something of that degree. Let the highschool kids name their threads whatever they want, at least they'll be out of the OT.
