I think this thread is funny in many ways. before there was other shops everyone nuthugged sharif and had his back, like he was god. but now with other shops getting exposure/costumers of course ppl are going to call out nuthuggers and use (homosexual references, insults) and argue. and it makes perfect sense for sharif to start this thread so his boys stop getting called out, so the free marketing/nuthuggin can go on, and sharif becomes god again and not get called out.

and really, I don't think Sharif wants a bunch of nancy boys acting like he is god anyway. I won't name names but everyone knows who is on which shop's nuts on this forum..

every shop has them... FP, PF, MRC, GTM, GRD, VRT...umm... Function but that isn't the big problem. I think MRC would complain more than FP would because it always seems to infest MRC threads with negativity... now I see it with PF nuthuggers, warranted adulation or not.

people need to learn to not project negativity just because they like one shop over the other (I am not saying I am innocent of this, I am self aware of my own stupidity at times) and support their shop, but not bash on others just 'because'

The board has been filled with a bunch of crap and only gets worse... I'm just as guilty of probably taking things out of hand myself but I'll help those who ask a legitimate question. I get a great laugh every time I see like 15 threads locked by Mike

Welcome to the internet. I can't name one forum that I'm on that doesn't see 1 day without Drama, name caling..ect.

I honestly think this topic is directly toward a certain person / company, rather than the point at hand.

I'll admit it, I've been involved in some of these threads and frankly I enjoy having fun to a certain point. I think a lot of people just bring their true personality on the forums and show people it's ok to joke around and act human, while others are just an act.

 

my point is with all the shops and ppl backing them, theres always gonna be arguements. but i dont see any other shop owners starting threads whining.

The use of the term "nuthugger" in itself is passive aggressive and is aimed at inciting an angry or defensive response towards the person it is aimed at. For those of you who complain and freely use it, you sure complain about arguing a lot. It's like calling someone a "b1tch" then complaining that they're getting defensive while discussing a topic.

I agree with Sharif's original post, but this forum has been this way for a LONG TIME. To make a big deal of it now only suggests that the he hasn't seen it or been a target of it as of yet.

I personally have been heckled to no end (for years now) on these forums for people who incite arguments on any thread that involves Turbonetics. No, I don't work there, but I disagree with much that is said and can't let it go without responding. Moderation has done nothing in cases that I'd consider borderline harassment, but I don't expect them to at this point.

 

such is politics on a forum, specifically one based around performace vehicles... its going to happnen.. its just the nature of the game... agreed it should be toned down though...

Some accomplishments I've seen lately have gotten turned into arguments for no reason. I mean damn... Hell, even I feel no point in starting a thread about any accomplishment because there is a good chance it will get picked apart and it gets turned into an argument.

I agree with Sharif and what Val has said. The sad part, all that is needed is some more moderators.......not to come down hard with the ban hammer....but to be there when things start to take a turn for the worse.

As it stands now, threads go on for pages and days before anything is done. Then when it gets the moderator's attention, the situation has spiraled so out of control, that threads are locked, posts deleted, and people banned. It just shouldn't come to that.

Take for instance right now, the main index page says there are 1525 people using the site.....I count 4 moderators. That's just not enough.

Last week, I notiece there were 1300+ and 3 moderators online.

All you need is more moderators......

.....but the response has already been...no more moderators...see a problem, report post.

and why does there HAVE to be arguments? that is a defeatist attitude. you can support your shop but not have to disrespect others. I honestly think most of the larger shops do comparable work. And although I am not in Sharif's corner I think he is a good business man that knows how to treat customers... if his actually work is better or not I don't know and am not saying that, but I know he has a sales background which gives him the background to understand how to keep people happy, which a lot of tuning shops lack because they are technicians first, salesman last no reason to hate.

if there is name calling on both sides (even behind doors...) it should really stop and at that point Sharif does not have the moral high ground to post a thread like this. but I don't really follow soap operas

You make a good point ^^.. There's no substitution for good old fashioned moderating that takes place right as the offense is being committed.

It's like training a puppy. If a puppy pees on the carpet, you have to catch him in the act and disipline it. You can not take a raincheck and disipline the puppy later. With more time elapsed inbetween, the disipline loses it's value.

 

Well you've got to look at it on the flip side. In the past, this forum was known for "**** moderation" when they actually decided to take some hard stances on certain issues. People will never be happy. I'd rather dig through a little arguing than deal with overbearing moderation.
