FI is where the big money is. Of course there's going to be heavy marketing there.

I don't think it's quite *overmoderated*, I believe the moderation is directed at the wrong problem areas. Too much moderation leads to complaining at the drop of a hat (see OP). This forum should be a free place to express opinions as long as it fits within the subject matter. If you don't like it, don't post, and don't complain.

If vendors can't post about their shop builds then what's left? Are we going to start moderating content to the extreme? The problem isn't the vendors, it's the people that can't just say "nice ride" or discuss a relevant issue.

 

I have no personal issues with you or anyone else on these forums, and I'm sure we'll be cool next Zdayz.

lol... I KNOW you've seen much worse forums than this. my350z is tame and the people here are soft. Of course they'll get worked up over small stuff.

 

create a section for each vendor that wants one and have them post away in there.

Advertising and self promotion has its place, when you watch TV they have set times for the commercials to air they don't just pop them in at will or cover half the screen.

Only issue with this is that your nuthuging would not be as visible to others and we know you like to be the expert or have everyone watch your nuthuging as pathetic as it is, do you also do the reach around or just stick to nuthuging?

Oh, no way am I saying that vendors shouldn't be allowed to post any of their accomplishments. It's just a little pet peeve I have, seeing the same threads generated over and over about the same types of builds. Now if a shop does something truly unique, then sure, that deserves a thread of its own .

"Nuthugging" is just an overused buzz word on these forums that's an acceptible method of insulting someone without actually being "insulting". It's like someone spewing off curse words due to the inability to actually debate an issue with any sort of maturity.

Anyone that has anything positive to say can be considered a "nuthugger". The only difference between someone being a "satisfied customer" and a "nuthugger" is if you agree with what they support or not.

I help people with Turbonetics issues because I own the kit and have the most experience with it. Because you have a strong dislike for anything Turbonetics you label me a "nuthugger" and base any argument on that weak attempt at insult.

In actuality, anyone could call you a Japtrix or APS "nuthugger" because you sell and support their products. However, I won't bother resorting to that because it's not only ignorant but immature.

Now, back to the topic...

You started this thread as a rant and a personal moan session against the vendors of this site and the FI section in general. While I agree that moderation needs to CHANGE, I think that your scrutiny of the vendors is misdirected.

Moderation should be against the trolls and people that are cosntantly insulting, name calling, and insinuating arguments between shops and groups of customers.

You are delusional, you do not help people you just attack ones that you do not agree with or perceive as making an attack on you or your buddies even if not true, you read into things that are not there and you are probably the worst culprit of post wars starting.

The attacks on vendors as you put it are usually questioning what was done to the car and not getting any info or trying to question the vendor when he is doing so much chest thumping but doesn't say anything about the failures which people know are out there.

 

I think the only real useless post on that forum recently was about a license plate. Everything else has had some relevance at some point. I also think shops should post about builds. It's nice to see what parts paired together can produce.

Ask all the turbonetics owners who I've assisted with. I don't go into threads telling greddy or aps owners what to do, and I also don't go into other shop's threads who I have no affiliation with or interest in and attempt to argue anything, because it's not my place.

Also, it's not my fault you are incompetent when it comes to the intricacies of social behavior. There are slights and unsaid comments in many of the posts on this forum. The fact that they totally go over your head does not mean they aren't there.

People on this forum are pretty good about ostracising anyone who disagrees with the masses. Most people that have manned up in the past and spoken up about the vultures that hang around arguing have long since given up on trying. Call me ignorant, but I still speak up when something I see happening is wrong.

I have no issues with most criticism of vendors. I do have issues with vendors who go out of their way to perpetually harass other vendors (Julian's unending antagonism of Jeremy, which is horribly obvious to anyone who knows the history). I speak up and the entire tri state area jumps on me. Such is the way it goes.

I see that you're 'delusional' in expecting all vendors to share information about their builds. There is no law stating that the must share, and they have no obligation to do so. You have no authority to criticize any vendor for not sharing anything, or insist that the mods do the same.

The fact that you're affiliated with a shop and are here attempting to make the argument says a lot. Rather than swim with the sharks you'd rather call the coast guard to have them all killed. This board was built to make money, and money talks. Learn to live with it or get out of the water.
