Default FI forum has to be the worst

FI forum has to be the worst forum section I have seen on any forum.

There are threads about stuff that has nothing to do with FI like LSX engine swap, GTR thread, thread on pics of a 6 sec car that should be in the racing forum, people posting about upcoming mods like it is an announcement anyone cares about, and that is just the first page.

Adding to this diatribe of useless information or at best not FI related, is the self promoting threads by vendors, xxx is representing, xxx did this, xxx did that, it has turned into an advertizing section.

Administrators and moderators need to do a better job, move off topic threads that have nothing to do with FI and set up a vendor section so that vendors and their nuthuggers can stroke each other to their hearts content.

Nice wheels Gus! I agree, the FI area is out of control.

There is a reason I stopped posting in there everyday, and that was a long time ago...

Well, it is also the most active section of the forum, excepts perhaps the general 350z forum. So with increased #s comes chaos... I wouldn't have built my engine, gone TT, or picked the shop I did without it, so I can't really complain that you have to sift the wheat from the chaff on a daily basis. Or maybe I should be complaining, because I'd have more money in my pocket if it (and this forum for that matter) didn't exist. I must admit, I find some of the chaos entertaining. There's also lots of new stuff to learn everyday.

You must not have been on many forums. Everywhere on my350z in generally tame. The only reason why anything there is considered "bad" is people here generally have a low tolerance for anything abrasive.

This site was made to make money. Bottom line. Forum SPONSORS pay to keep the site running. If they want to pay big money to be sponsors, then they have every right to post shop work, especially if it is an FI build. It's NOT someone's right to enter that thread and insult, instigate, or bait forum members into arguments. If someone doesn't want to pay money to become a forum sponsor, then they really have no right to say they can't post their work (free of criticism).

But really, point out any real off-topic post there and I'll say "sure, move it". But, no one is FORCING anyone to read anything in the forum. If you don't like the GTR or LSX threads then don't click on them. Mods shouldnt have to do it for you. It's that simple.

Furthermore, name calling such as "nuthugger" is exactly the kind of attitude that makes those bad threads you may be referring to. Everyone is proud of their own shop/sutup/car or what not. Just because they make it known on the forum does not necessarily make them a "nuthugger". It's not up to anyone here to judge or criticize someone because they have a little enthusiasm.

I believe that the main issue with the FI section are the people who feel the need to insult any product, shop, or individual they don't agree with or get along with. It's painfully obvious that certain groups of individuals go out of their way to make life difficult for others. These are the same people who have absolutely nothing valuable to contribute to the forum in the first place.

There are groups that will jump on anyone who has a difference in opinion and make them look bad, and will jump on the bandwagon to slander and attack anyone who disagrees with them.

This is the reason why that forum may suck at times. Moderators need to crack down on this negative behavior in an unbiased and moderate manner.

That is all.

although I am surprised you have the energy to post with all of the "nuthuggin" you do with PF and TN

Just because sponsors pay money should not give them right to post self promoting ads masquerading as threads and make people wanting to look for info sift through the bs, half the time there is no useful info on their threads just "look at me and what I have done but don't ask me how I did it because I wont tell you"

Don't hang here too long someone might be getting cold without you there

Well now you've shown what this post really is about.

Just a bitter person complaining because he isn't a sponsor and can't take part in all the viral marketing. Apologies if Japtrix can't keep up, but you won't be getting any sympathy here.

I think that the FI forum is already over-moderated. Threads get closed daily just because people can't take getting their feelings hurt.

I do agree that it gets REALLY old when vendors post threads about all of the cars that leave their shop. It's like, cool, another 500whp+ Z, woo hoo.

The FI section is by far the worst section in the forum. We're currently debating on closing it down for a little while. As for the threads that the vendors put up when they finish a car. Would you feel the same way if the customer made the post? I know if I just got my car back with 600whp I gonna make a thread or 2. So it really doesn't matter.

I don't mind that at all, as I've done it myself. It just gets old seeing 10 threads on the first page like: "***XYZ Performance Shop does it again: 512whp Z with blah blah blah...***"

I agree, if the customer does it then I guess it would go down better, but not many will do it as they feel apprehensive about doing it and don't want to show off probably because it is not ground breaking any more just self promoting, as failsafe mentioned it has been done, so new threads would be nice if something new was attempted but then I go back to my previous comment that they wont reveal how they did it.

Also some owners are not on the boards either, so sole reason is to promote themselves and seek praise.

I think the FI section mainly needs a different moderating approach.....

<---What do I know though, I don't even know if I'm allowed to post in this thread.

I like seeing all the crazy build threads. Lets you know whos got what and what itll take to get to a certain power level. Its always informative (at least in the first post of such thread).

Sure it can lead to nuthugging........theres alot of money being thrown around and you better believe that the owners will have pride in their builder and car.

Without competition, wed get no where. We needs the shops to 1up eachother. We need people to push limits and test the waters.

Is that meant to bait Craig into some kind of repsonse so you can claim he's following you around and harassing you?
