i guess you don't understand how databases work.. each data set is in a different table for different forum.. its not pointers.. its actually data resident in different tables.. if you do a query to 20 forums for 'motor' its actually going to 20 different tables.. as opposed to 20 threads in 1 forum which is actually looking in 1 table. Each time you request 'motor' in 20 forums it goes back and forth using resources.

If you think the forum is getting to slow then you should suggest the removal of some of the off topic forum sections, not be against the adding of a forum section that pertains to what this forum is based on, the 350Z. A forum is a business, and if adding an NA forum hurt it and cost it money I would say dont do it, but it wont, it will only help it, as the majority of My350z.com goers have already stated in the poll.

again..its one thing to have 50 useless threads in the OT forum than to have 50 relevant threads in 50 forums..

think of it as having a Pitcher of bear and pouring it for 50 cups.. as opposed to having 50 pitchers for 50 cups and one waiter doing all the work

Then why are there some many off topic sub forums? If they were really that concerned with it, whats the point?

Everyone posting in this thread is a member of this site. The question is how those resources are divided up between the members.

No... The real question is how can this site best serve it 's members.

Not a problem.

I knew you didn't really have any.

Of course... We are simple users... we just want to use the site.

This isn't about me... I suppose you're a certified DBA?

Finally, something that I agree you are an expert at!

That's not relevant. Maybe there aren't more NA cars because there isn't a good NA forum to get information.

i always thought there should be a NA thread or forum..i mean its where the majority of Zs are right now and ..it would be nice not to troll the intake exhaust forum ya know. I mean personally i wouldnt mind a NA forum departed by the vq35de/revups/HRs ya know...Its always nice to go to a forum where everyone is on the same page. ALso alot of the threads can be shifted to there own catagoeries like the revup oil thread can be moved to there own thread or a HR NA question can be moved there.

If FI has a forum why not the majority of Z owners which are NA. lol makes sense.

you can insult me all you want.. but there are a few facts that are still evident here..

1) yes i am a certified DBA
2) i am fully versed with php and mysql as well as vBulletin, its templates, its pages, it structure, and how it operates with php and mysql
3) i ran/programed/moddified one of the biggest car forums on the internet and helped consult with the programming of another one of the biggest car forums on the internet..
4) you still don't have your N/A Forum

you are confused about the forum structure.. FI is there because its a PowerAdder.. such as Nitrous.. such as Intake/Exhausts has its own forum.. you want a NA Forum to discuss bolt ons? how granular are you guys going to get? lets break down the rim forum to sizes.. lets break down the interior forum to seat swaps... painting dashes... lets all break it down and waste more resources

well its as granular as the public asks.....i mean seriously in every forum i have seen there have been NA forums....i understand how your structure works but it is something to consider since the folk are asking for it i myself am for it.

Noone saying lets make it so specific but ...hey sometimes us NA folks dont wanna be in a thread where FI guys in the intake exhaust section are asking for 3inch piping etc. lmao etc or guys are asking questions abuot how does this effect my SC etc..NA should be na tunign etc all along with it.

i believe resources can be redistributed i mean if there was a retitle of the intake.exhaust section to NA forum would that then be wasted resourse or giving the people what they want more effieciently.

As i said.. the maxima forum has an 'All Motor' Forum.. i am not against it at all.. **** i created it

http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=61

but as it says

All Motor Advanced Performance. Talk about Engine Swaps, Internal Engine work. Not your basic Y pipe and Intake Information.
Honda forums can have all motor forums too.. because those guys swap motors like crazy.. same for RX7 forums... and so forth..

Z's don't have enough work done all motor based to warrant the content to have its own forum..

i'm not against an NA Forum or All Motor forum.. i just think its going to get cluttered with the basic bolt on posts.. nothing substantial

well u have a point. And i dont expect it to become reality in this site. ...but it would be nice sometimes to have a thread completly all motor NA . Instead of scaping 3 different threads for tuning information NA and product information NA ....the basic NA guy has to search alot more for NA results then a FI user.....thats my only argument for me to find a motordyne thread jesus even with the search becomes annoying when a FI guy can click his own section find everything stickied or bascially in one spot. Just some food for thought nothing else.

see there is alot of cross posting here... alot of NA Mods work for FI also.. so basically they are cross posted..

what would make more sense are Dyno Forums.. then split those forum out into NA Dyno's (sub), FI Dyno's (sub) and Nitrous Dyno's (sub)

then people can list their mods and their dyno's.. and people can get a better idea of how good these mods work or how little they work

Yes, I agree with that... I'm not sure how, but you do seem to survive every dust-up with amazing impunity.

You got secret pictures of Kyle or something? (j/k)
