Default suggestion

i think that any thread that has in the title or begins with the following phrases should be locked:

"What do you think"
"What should I do"
"What would you do"
"Which one should I get"
"Which one would you get"
"Which one has more"
"Which one is better"
"Which one would you choose"

and so on.. these are opinionated questions that get started over and over again, and just clutters up the forum

To be honest I usually don't mind the content of those threads, I just hate stupid titles like those. I use title search and when I want to pick a subject I expect to see it in the title. When people make threads titled "what do you think" instead of "[Wheel X vs Wheel Y]" it makes the thread not only less attractive (people don't care to even open it), it also makes it much more difficult to search for previous polls, opinions, or anything of the sort.

old thread, but lately there have been a bunch of these types of threads being created. should start closing them IMO. seriously, how hard it is to make your own decision about what to do with your car.

I agree with the fact that there is no need for the same questions over and over, but do not agree that people should not be allowed to come in and ask the opinions of others. How can you make an educated decision without doing some amount of research? Hell, after seeing some of the stupid mods people have done, I wish that they had ask for opinions first.

By the way, people continue to make these threads despite witty comments like "do what YOU want with YOUR car". Just saying.

Good point. I actually close many threads that do not contain a title pertinent to thread content. Unfortunately I can only do it in sections I have jurisdiction over...

+1 the titles are stupid and should be more content specific, but often times those threads do still have decent content. On the other hand, there are MANY threads like that which are simply a waste of space.

here is a suggestion. there is already a intake rule section, just change the wording around a bit, make it an announcement, and apply it to all types of those questions. then enforce the heck out of it.
