Requirements to post or make a thread?
IMO, there should be a 30-day waiting period, along with the requirement to make an introductory thread before you can make a new thread or post in other areas.

I do have a suggestion that you could pass along. How about within the first 30 days, before a thread is posted, it has to be approved by a mod. Say when new thread is started, it is sent to a mod to approve. If the Thread is worthy, let it get posted, if not DELETE. I think this would also help with Spam.

I am here 10hrs a day and wouldn't mind Moding that
I am sure there are others as well that wouldn't mind to help keep this site pure. I mean really how many threads can one stand seeing "I got $500, what to do??"

Maybe we can have an intro PM when someone that signs up can read, with all links of information and postings to inform them. Once they are done they can click like an EDUL to enable their account. Just a thought...

While it sounds like a great idea its fairly unrealistic to do in many terms. Having members sign an agreement before their account is enabled explaining the terms would be a better idea in reality.
As for having every thread pre approved it would be just too much of an undertaking. People would be getting very pissed waiting for their threads to appear would just cause too many issues. I think we are currently doing a fair enough job of keeping those type threads and users at bay as needed.

This is exactly the conclusion staff came up to. While it may seem a good idea to the OG's who find n00b threads an annoyance, collectively its not a good to enforce a waiting period on the entire forum...
