We have IB looking into it as we speak...

 

We're working on some issues with the sidebar now. First, it shouldn't be appearing on pages where you're creating a post or a thread, that will be removed.

We're also working on standardizing the width, so that it remains consistent despite which area of the site you're on.

Thanks for your feedback, we are listening, although I can't say that we'll be removing the sidebar entirely.

How is that listening? People want it removed entirely, or rather, exactly how it was a couple days ago before you messed with it.

 

I am merely a messenger. I've been tasked with doing what I can to improve the product and make it fit each site well.

To that end, constructive criticism, and commentary are appreciated, will be considered and quite likely will lead to actions.

Complaints of 'oh this sucks', or 'bring the old one back' don't really offer much help, nor do they illustrate exactly what it is that's causing you such grief.

If you are going to leave it in place despite the complaints, please give us the option to disable it in our options. Or run a poll on it. It is far too intrusive and eats up valuable screen realestate.

Unfortunately this is not possible. I am using an ipad right now and don't find that it cramps things

 

Maybe you should poll how many of the users are browsing on an ipad. I suspect most are on computers, just as I suspect most are turned off by your addition of the junk on the right that is cramping the actual forum posts that we are here to see.

 

It cramps things on a regular screen. I hate surfing on my iphone now....

Its useless..........the only thing that IB cares about in that column is the AD space. Why not just put the ad right where the others are and eliminate that column. The amount of dead space to the right ( column of text/ad only extends so far down leaving a ton of dead space afterward) makes it look like an amateur programmed it in.

Maybe instead of trying to make more pennies per hit you guys should fix your servers so I don't get that "whoops cant find it" page.
