Default Id like to know...

...who deleted the thread regarding a problem that myself, 2003z, hraes, and MANY others have with a specific mod of this forum. Was it the mod him/herself? If so, the abuse of moderator powers is BLATANT... what am I missing here? I will NOT let this slide; I'm tired of being threatened and harassed by this mod, and it has come time to take action. I speak for many people (including ones who have remained publically silent) when I say I feel this is ridiculous. Something must be done; there must be change...

I posted something in the advisor forum about this. I don't think this moderator can delete there, but I may be wrong.

I missed it too(not suprising when you dont read those threads at all). all I can say is that the mod who removed it was not the mod that your refering too. so atleast know that much.

also it was not deleted, just moved where you cant see it. the other mods are reading the thread.

no comment from me since I have no clue what took place other than reading a few PMs.

Wouldn't I get banned if I titled a PM "FY!" to a moderator?

I was thinking the same thing. But, there is a big difference between a shift + 1 to get "!" and shift + i to get a "I."

I'm kind of curious what this is all about.

Censorship, to prevent members from seeing what a misinfomed coward some people are.

I've only had one instance where one of my threads was moved by Vic. The thread later returned after I spoke personally with Vic about it. It was a vendor related thread and ultimately, the matter resolved properly.

I've posted elsewhere about mods and my two cents is that we have a great amount of latitude to post. If it was moved, there is probably some underlying reason. If not, it will be returned. I'd say, give the mods a chance to sort it out.

it was moved to a deleted thread forum only moderators can see, doesn't do much good. I've sent to pms to vic with no response. Really dissappointed with him.

I think Vic is pretty busy, and there's no reason to be disappointed. He has a lot of other things to take care around here. Moving it to a moderator only forum was my decision, and I still think it was the best action to take.

victor has not been on all day that I know of. I dont think he even knows about any of this. I havent seen him on AOL. nor seen him post today. so I wouldnt take his lack of response to mean anything specific.

its rather simple though. thus far not a single mod other than txstyle saw the thread. one posted in it as the first reply. so we have absolutely no clue what happened. therefore, whats there to do?

Ill agree the PM was not in the best taste. but it was a PM, a private message. therefore it would be my opinion the matter should be settled privately between the parties. Ill also say if anyone gets striked or banned for anything said in PMs that too would be wrong. settle it like civilized people, have your discussion, argue if you want.

As long as its done privately thats really not a 3rd party moderators job to interfere with, is it? to me that would be censorship. I dont think txstyle would ban or strike anyone for what you say to him in a PM. PMs are easy to ignore if anyone no longer wishes to talk.

Ill make a deal with you though, if you are given a strike or banned by any mod for something said in a PM, email me the PM and I will look at it, and I will make sure vic does too.

my 2cents.

enjoy a heated debate, and dont fear your status on the forum.

I LOVE a heated debate, the only problem I have is that when the debate DOES get heated, I get threats in my PM box telling me I will be IP banned if I continue the debate. I simply don't see how this is being "fair and level" and allowing both sides of an issue to be heard. It is posting something radical, then threatening any dissenters with an IP ban; sounds like Saddam Hussein tactics to me...

I will trust the mods to sort this out, as I know the overwhelming majority ARE in fact fair and level. I'm not in disagreement with you Ares, in fact, I agree entirely with what you've said, I just don't see your proposed policies in action, which is my problem with this mod.

I'm not pissed about this or anything, nor do I have a personal vendetta against said mod, I just believe that heated debates should be allowed, and the instigator of said debate should not abuse moderator powers by threatening bans on people who post ideas contrary to his.

Another problem I have is the extremely condescending PMs; calling me "buddy" and "pal", then telling me I am stupid and don't understand anything, then signing it "respectfully." I see through the rhetoric and b*llshit and see to the real message of the PMs, and it isn't one that is "fair and level."

As always, just my thoughts.

So we can say whatever we want in a PM and not get banned for it? I was being too nice in my PMs then...

No. I'm fairly certain that the same rules regarding harrassment of forum members apply whether it's in public or by PM. But you know that and are rabble rousing aren't you.

If there is harrassment in a PM, that PM when brought to a moderators attention must be reviewed. Forum members should not be harrassed, either in public or in private.

Don't you think it would be wrong for someone to deal with crap from PMs too?
