Angry Tired of this site always being down

I am tired of this site being down. I think that everyone should go over to 350zMotoring.com unless the owner is planning on fixing this

I'm with you, but there is so much info and members here.

This site has no idea what a gold mine they have here. Just wish they would fix it also. Bottom line it all comes down to one thing, and that is $.

If the sponsors knew how often it was down, I doubt there would be a site at all.

It is really sad how poorly managed this site is. It has tremendous potential to be one of the best 350z sites on the net.

thank you, I am glad that some one else is feeling the frustration. You are right they dont know what they have here. Everyone needs to go over to the other site and post. If people see that there is a good amount of people over there they will come. At least once a day I get a database error. It is irritating especially when I am trying to deal with selling something to someone and they pm me and I cant even check it

I like Motoring a lot aside from the poor layout. That site could take over if it had a more thought out layout.

I dont mind something being down for maintenance or something but this site needs to accomodate for more users in their database. Use Microsoft SQL Server. It supports up to 32000 concurrent users making changes to the database all at one time. My SQL which this site uses, I dont know much about except that Microsofts in a hell of a lot better.

Actually they were down for 3+ days a couple weeks ago. It's a good site, but your facts aren't correct.

Speak of what you know. There are many who would dispute your statement and recommendations, but they would have reasons to back up their points other than, "I dont know much about [MySQL] except that Microsofts in a hell of a lot better."

I have ZERO respect for Taco, Taki , or whatever the F*ck his name is. He's making Good money from this site, he has a 1,000,000.00+++ Dollar Exotic car collection, but doesnt have time to get off his lazy A$$ and spend the same amount of money for a new server, as it would cost to TUNE UP one of his Lambos.

Meanwhile, the poor admin is taking all the heat. And Supposedly, TACO is IN THE PROCESS of getting a new server, And Has been in this process for over a month. lol

The most frustrating part is that this site contains so much great information but it is so hard to get to because even from an ultrafast connection the site is slow as a dial-up. I've never complained before but it's getting ridiculous lately. This is probably the best, most informative 350z site on the net yet it languishes because of owners who don't seem to care. Removing Avatars and larger attachments isn't going to speed up the site--the admins obviously don't know much about site admin. They just need to get a faster server and backbone that can handle 300+ users at one time. Personally I hate the software they use to run this site--there are so many better ones out there that are so much more efficient, let you preview the message by putting the mouse over it, etc. That feature in itself would likely speed up this site dramatically because you don't have to click on every single message to read it.

Ahhh, rant done!

Kind of like a feedback loop system.

Normal site - Traffic increase - traffic increase - traffic increase - server overload - server shut down - people leave - traffic decrease - normal site again.

I've seen the screen of death about 50 times this week already. It's ridiculous. Like others have said, it's not that hard to post up a message indicating when the site will be down for maintenance and when it'll be up again. Sad thing is a lot of useful info on this website will be sorely missed elsewhere.
