Mostly install errors. APS is a complete solution IMO, but if you plan on tuning your setup (with forged internals, return fuel system, and fine tuning), the Greddy is a nice way to go. Wanna buy a used kit?

Here

I would say mostly installation errors to, or overboosting without the proper tuning and fuel system. Those are the only two problems that I really forsee, and both are user/installer's fault.

I believe Technosquare claims they fixed most of the timing problems by creating a custom ECU flash and getting rid of E-manage all together.

APS is BY FAR the most complete kit out there.... the greddy is good but you definitely need other things to make it really complete...

but tuning and over boosting are really that big issues with any kit...

You know I think the most important part that many over look in the budget for boosting any motor is....finding a tuner...Just about any parts installer can put a enginered kit on a car, where you need really need the right person the tune.....TwoNosBottles were are you in jersey.....If you are near englishtown you are close to one of the best tuners in the land LAROCCA'S PERFORMANCE.......Jimmy is the best he loves to get in there and really make your ride perform and stay together(He also installs just about everything)....

Whats up, this is Ray, you stopped by when we were installing the stoptech brake kit. Anyway, I wanted to let you know, the Greddy kit is not even close to a complete kit. There is a lot more that is needed before it is a reliable turbo kit. As for the APS kit, you should come down to MRC Motorsports and check out the one we installed on Jay's car or wait a week and check out the ones that we get in house. It is by far the most complete and organized kit out there for the Z.

sorry for the question that's probably been asked already but will save me the search...
briefly, what is it about the APS kit that makes it a lot more reliable/"more complete" then the Greddy?

does the fmic on the APS retain the *(tip of my tongue) metal thing behind the front bumper*? i'm pretty sure it had to be removed for the greddy kit
thanks

Ignoring carb certification, ball bearing turbos, better design, research, testing and quality of the APS kit, some component differences that Greddy does NOT have in the kit and APS does are:

Ignition Timing Control
Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator
Upgraded Fuel Pump
Two Stage Blow Off Valve

This is just off the top of my head so there are probabally other component differences and the APS intercooler does not require the removal of the 'metal thing behind the front bumper' like the Greddy does. And every part in the APS kit has alot more potential lying in wait for when you get forged internals.

You can read up on the different parts here:
