Backagain....When you backed out that bolt from the BOV . Do you remember how much of that bolt was showing ? By backing it out....you just made it close a little later...so you will get into boost a little later .
A while back a bunch of us Vortech guys adjusted are BOV's . They come from Vortech with about 9 to10 threads showing on that bolt . We kept adjusting it down till we heard a flutter coming from the blower when you let off the gas from a WOT run . Then backed it out one thread so it didnt flutter any more.
I dont remember exactly what your car was doing , but its possible it was stuck open and causing your problem .
We ended up with about 6 or 7 threads showing on that bolt on the BOV . The whistle may sound cool to you but adjusting it out only gets you into boost later . let us know if your car is still ok

not much of it was showing, when i got the car back from z1 they said he had it all the way in, and that i could let it out some but that would make it louder, i didn't mind. the car is running great. and bov sounds awsome.

then I would think your problem was a kinked vacuum hose...not allowing the fuel pump to come on
