I will let you all know how the power is after my install is completed and the snow goes away. It was -8 degrees this morning. Not right I say!

Stillen would be pick no.1 for me, but it's up to you if you can deal with the hood and strut bar etc...
if not, hks is the way to go.
I heard good things about the Stillen ... I'll look into that further and ya the HKS I'll check into also - Thanks

I had a second car upon very very recently...lets say Santa had plans for a new owner <sigh>

Didnt know about Turbonetics Single Turbo... but ...been there hated that... I meant the upkeep ... leaning toward SC as a result
-------------------------------------------------------------
I think I need to check someone's 350 SC first, just to get a better idea ANY VOLUNTEERS ???ANYONE WITH SC IN SOFLO ???ANYONE ? HELLO ???
-------------------------------------------------------------
I have a friend that works for Vortech...but oddly enough was never really into or know much about their products

Thanks all for your input

Default Stillen SC for me soon

I am having the dealer install a Stillen SC on an 03 350Z Track. I am not doing anything with the pistons though. Am I in for trouble?

no one on any of the forums has reported engine failures with the stillen. You should have no problems, especially dealer installed, I am assuming you bought the warranty? We may not make the most power, but if anything, its reliable.

Yes I bought the warranty. No, I'm sure I won't have the most power, but I want maintenance (almost)-free reliability yet a small "edge" over the unsuspecting. While it is not my normal driving car, I'm not looking for much more power....just enough to surprise a few Muskrats and other z's at a traffic light or two

...just a shame I had to drop 7k+ for SC, labor, hood, paint

" Stillen Belts And Pulley Problems " - Re THREAD in this section

I am notlooking to have heavy miantenance myself soI want to drop the $$ and practically forget the SC is there.

Pistons changes are good with TURBO not required but really beneficial ... On SC you shouldnt worry about it !

I'm having a Vortech SC installed in about a week, same mechanic as McDuck uses. Were doing a lot of the same things, our installer hasn't had any problems with the Vortech kit and it makes a lot of power. I think McDuck is on 15,000 miles on his charger so your shop choice and tune make a huge difference, and yes that's on stock internals, break your SC in properly and you'll have even more success. IMO, the tune is vital and you need to find the absolute best for your tune. I wouldn't do FI to a daily driver, I do it for your Z that is more less a pleasure ride or something you consider a hobby! That's how I look at my baby!

i don't know if i'm jumping in here and reading this out of context, but...

the above statement is not all that accurate. My piston actually disintegrated when my motor blew up...the stock internals (meaning pistons AND rods are not great for F/I...
go turbo, even though it blew up my motor, i still would have done it over a SC)...the weak end on this motor is the rods, swap the rods and pistons out for forged internal while you have the motor apart (if you were gonna go that route)..the twin turbo will be much more tunable, make more power, sound better (hahaha)...

i've seen the supercharged cars, ridden in one, didn't care for it all that much, sure it is more powerful than a stock 350..but if u are gonna go through the expense and install of something, make it worthwhile..my $.02

If you like it then it's worth while! A SC tuned properly and installed right is just as powerful, a turbo just spools a little quicker. It's apples and oranges if you look at it from that stand point. And yea, I'd say 400 to the wheels is quite a bit more powerful than a stock Z. So I guess for those of us with SC that would make it worth while wouldn't you think.

i'm not trying to be an a$$ at all!...it's just, i got "used to" my twin turbo setup at 8.5 lbs (putting out 465rwhp- 380rwhp actual at 5500ft altitude)
while that is a TON of power, i am addicted to this speed thing (car speed not meth)..and i desire to beat every car on the road, and do so reliably, and like to have the luxary of tuning for more power when the time comes...i love that with turbos

my motor is being rebuilt now, i plan to eventually to tune it to an actual rwhp of around 550-600... that's what worthwhile is to me, but i admit i'm probably not the norm!

The mechanics just got the Stillen Stage 1 today. The install will be done next week. I will post results on speed and pull when the snow goes away. I am even worried about getting to the dealership. Snow sucks.

I will post some North American International Auto Show pics on another thread. Look for it by the weekend.
