Default Vortech: How soon for new plugs?

Calling all you Vortech owners and FI for that matter!
How often are you changing out iridium plugs? Mine are 8000 miles old now, had a misfire the other day which i can only put down to foulled plugs. Hadnt driven the car hard for days as the roads are to slippy at the moment, and the car was misfiring like crazy. Once it warmed up, no problems since. Have given her a good thrashing since to clear the plugs.

Anyway, back to my question, how often do you change?

baptist...I looked at mine when they pulled the motor . It had about 4,000 miles on the SC . They looked pretty dark and carboned up . No miss fires yet . I was thinking if I even needed one step colder after lowering compression to 9 to 1 .Any thoughts on that ?

I recently passed 7000 miles on my SC and had my plugs changed for the heck of it. They looked ok but after the change I noticed a difference. I would recommend every 6-7k depending on how well tuned your car is.

Just my opinion

I actually went 10K on mine. When I changed the plugs there was a noticeable gain in power. I'm sure this was just power I had lost over time as the plugs became worn. I'm not planning to check them every 2500 miles.

Plugs are on route. Got denso's this time, 1 step colder, they're at 9k my NGK's that are in, so time to change.
