Default Attn: Vortech owners/prospects...upgrade part

Hello,

Recently I did some work with Injen Technology and had them create a new pipe to replace the current triple connection (ugly) pipe that the Vortech comes with out of the box. So, instead of have a pipe come off of the throttle body, sleeve into the STOCK (ugly) abs black MAF housing, then bolt back into the intercooler piping only to take a drive back down to the bottom of the engine, Injen has created a single pipe (polished) that has the MAF housing welded in and looks AWESOME! You can see some examples of it in the pics below. Notice one of the pics, I'm holding the old, replaced part next to the newly created, polished part. Looks way better. Also, this pipe is bent slightly different to allow the oil stick to be better accessed and it DOESN'T rub against your coolant line. It is also 3" in diameter instead of 2 3/4. I've tested before and after and this does not affect the A/F #'s at all. Actually, my car seems to start up and shut down cleaner without the violent shutter. I am not claiming ANY hp out of this, but the dyno at Injen showed 5 hp increase. I'd say this is a cosmetic upgrade that will be well worth the money. This is good for ANY VQ35/Vortech install. If you are interested, email me in the interim and as soon as I have a few prospects, I'll ask about pricing. randys_g@yahoo.com

Definitely interested.

Also, seriously, get them to make a CAI for the vortech. Just get them to run a tube from the intake of the SC out the air duct and place a filter just above the IC.

That would sell really well, especially because you could change the filter without removing the SC.

I'll be in - price depending.

BTW - How does the sensor portion of the MAF remove from the stock piece and re-attach to the Injen piece? Pics?

that union-union-union has always bothered me... seems a bit too "tacked" together.....

surely looks much nicer now, and the added ¼ cant hurt either...

nice going!
