Talking Look whats going into my engine

Here are some of the ferrera parts that are going into my heads... thanks to SGP Racing and Kyle for keeping me up to date and sending me photos of whats going on...

And heres my engine with ceramic coating on the pistons

The heads will be going out to get work on them as soon as I have time to finish a box to ship them in... hopefully within a week.. I plan on finishing the assembly of the top and bottom off with some cams (either tomei or JWT) and ARP head and Main studs... Also i saw on COMETIC's website they have headgaskets for $89 each for our engine... anyone know anything about this?

Beautiful, thanks for posting. Also, how much did the ceramic coating cost?

Honestly if forget the exact amount... but I think it was about $150 or something like that for bearings and pistons... kyle can chime in and let you know.

nice...

Phunk had an issue with the Ferrera oversized valves being too short, or having a non-OEM tape to them. Do you know anything about this?

I remember this too. Something about the 6mm valves that weren't the same taper as stock, but the 5.5mm ones were. I don't remember exactly.

There are 2 setups now guys. Ferrea made stuff that works with the stock valves.

Based on the part #s I can see, he has the right stuff to use his Ferrea 6mm stem valve... with one exception.. those spring locators are not to be used. Maybe they just made it in the photo of Ferrea parts that SGP was taking... but for their combo of parts to be used with the Ferrea straight stem 6mm valves, you use the stock spring locators.

reply from kyle

Anthony,

No problems...just means you have to use all the
Ferrera parts which is what you have.

Kyle

Yes I spoke with Cometics today and they stated that the overbore and standard bore headgaskets will be shipping out on Thursday. Finally after 6 months of waiting. We will very soon finally see some stroked and bored vq35's assembled and running.

I wanted to correct what I said... A sales guy at Ferrea got it all wrong last time we talked about it.

The spring locators ARE for the 6mm stem setup, and stock locators are used with the stock valve setup... someone explained to that to me wrong a couple times now and now I have to update my website to correct this... fortunatly for me Ferrea is making up for the confusion by giving me a set of spring locators for free so I dont have to explain to one of my customers why the order would be another $100.
