Well, I got it swapped this morning and first impression is tha tthe difference is not pronounced, I had to go get some synthetic fluid for a few minutes and that is when the installed it on my car and at first I wonder if they really swapped or just reinstalled mine since I didn't watch it the whole time.

Some of the differences I have seen are:
1. I can easily hit 60 in second gear probably around 65
2. First gear is not as short as it was before

I should have paid more atenttion on mine before the swao but here are the speed at 3k rpm:
1. 5th gear 66mph
2. 4th gear 52 mph

In 6th gear at 80mph I used to be slightly above 3k rpm now I am at around 2750.

Small subtle changes but with the TT it better.

What's the difference in the mph being off, and is ther a fix for accurate mph readings... such as a reflash of the ecu???

the mph isn't "off" -- the final drive ratio is independent of the speed reported to the ecu

Agreed, the only thing that will affect your mph will be tire size.

Is your cruise control still happy?

Nope it doesn't , but it could effect cruise control. The TCS and VDS relie upon data taken on the four-corners(axles) and a cnetral Yaw sensor. How fast the driveshaft is spinning in relation to these points is of little importance.

Funny you should mention that, I had not used cruise control since the TT install, I hardly used it before, but I tried the other day and as soon as I would let off the gas it would disingage, and I was trying to figure it out but you just might have doen it for me.

No biggie as in the last 2.5 years since I have had the car I think I have used cruise once if at all besides this last time.

I heard that this would happen , I think from Gurgen.
I really don't use mine either.

I wanted to update, I found out the cruise control still works but not in 6th gear, I am guessing that because of the difference in RPM's at a given speed maybe the ECU doesn't like seeing lower RPM's than it expects, specifically in 6th gear since in any lower gear the revs will match to a point like when I am in 5th it is close to what I used to see in 6th. So you do not get the fuel savings from the longer gears at higher speed if you want to use the cruise control.

I like the idea of the 3.30's in my car, especialy with a FI application... I've never used Cruise Control... And Never Will...

Well, I swapped my 5AT gears for a complete 6MT pumpkin and loved the result... now I recently sold my 3.3 5AT gears to phunk (Charles) and I'm interested to see the results he gets on his built engine...

an aside on the cruise control issue - I found that anytime I keep it under 75, the cruise control will work fine - but if I accelerate to over 75 at any time while driving (be in before setting cruise control or trying to cruise at anything over 75) the "set" light will flash and not allow me to set the cruise control... that's just my observations and maybe that can help some people out...

Just out of curiosity drop it down a gear and then try to go over 75 and see if it works.
