Technosquare ECU and APS
Hey guys I tried a search on this and got nothing so sorry if this a repost. Hopfully I will be investing in a forced induction system shortly (nothing but APS). I was wondering if I have a technosquare ecu and an 350EVO throttle body will these in any way affect the APS kit? Has anyone had any experience with this type of instance? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Also just a side question but I thought originally when the APS TT kit came out Strictly Z was selling it, now I see only concept Z does. Why is this? Just wondering.
Thanks Zach

You won't have any problems with the kit as long as its custom tuned properly. You can look on APS website for other dealers on the 350Z kits. The companies you mentioned were/are sponsors of this forum.

Do you believe there will be an improvement in power on a 350 Z TT engine, or that the stock Z throtle body is a restriction?
I don't have any experience with technosquares generic tuning maps though I believe that you can't achieve better than a engine tune designed for the exact application, custom dyno tuning/mapping your Twin Turbo engine/system on the fuel brand/octane you use daily will definitely yeild the best power, torque, throttle response, and fuel efficiency.
Thanks
Peter
Thanks for responding Peter, I recently have been looking into the Technosquare ECU and they have it made out that if the cars ECU if left alone and specific modificains are installed that the ECU will compensate by retarding timing and what not, thus losing potential power. I know that only dyno tuning can really yield a modifications full potentional but it seemed that this ECU reflash would also help. And the 350EVO throttle body was designed in conjunction with the ECU so it seemed that it would be beneficial to the motor.
Anyway thanks for answering my question and for making a great product.

Peter, any chance you can comment on the OEM throttle body? Are you aware that Technosquare claims the stock ECU does not open the throttle body 100% at WOT?
I know from talking to you at SEMA that you have researched every restriction on this car. Any chance you would share your thoughts on the restrictiveness or limits of the stock throttle body?

Thanks and my pleasure to answer you question, sorry I can't give you an absolute answer to your throtle body question.

If you Datalog the TPS on a Manual Z (not sure about auto) you will see the Throttle close to about 80% after 5500rpm. I'm guessing this is just Nissan trying to get you to shift at redline to protect the motor for warranty reasons. TS flashes prevent this, giving you 100% to redline.
Though I'm not sure of how large a difference this makes, at least at lower boost. There isn't a large separation between the cars with the flash and those without dyno numbers at the same boost. I could feel the better top end pull after the flash at the same boost(Changed boost at the same time as the flash on the dyno. Did all the new runs at the higher boost so no good comparison dyno.) but maybe with the stock top end there isn't enough flow potential to fully use it?
