Default Car stopped boosting

I was driving on the way home from a shop on the 5, then all of a sudden when I tried to pass someone up, my car stopped boosting Any suggestions on what I should do?

Check all your vacuum hoses and intercooler pipe couplings. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak, but most likely before the MAF.

Boost leak, check all piping from the turbo's intercooler to the throttle body.

Thanks, I'll have that checked. I hear a loud click on the passenger side when I let off the gas. I can't seem to see the problem. Somebody said it might be something with the wastegate but I can't see it.

What forced induction system do you have?

Sounds like the Greddy with the loud click you mentioned, that is usually the intercooler to throttle body charge pipe hitting the chassis under the head light... it will hit in a real bad way there and it will create a massive dent in the pipe that would eventually crack open and cause a huge boost leak if something isnt done about it.

But as for whats included in your post, for all I know your supercharged?

I have the Greddy TT. The shop removed the downpipe part and the shop says that there is lots of play on the shaft. The car spools normal during idle, then when we give it a little gas, the turbo locks up. They say it might be a bad turbo. Dayam

I guess thats possible, but just doesn't seem very probable. Especially since it works fine until you get into the boost, which is why I would say boost leak. How many miles are on your turbos, most likely they shouldn't be bad, but anything is possible.

I'm hoping it's not the turbo, I'm taking it to Street Image this afternoon for a check up. I have had the turbo for more the 10k mi. I just hear a sudden loud knock every so often on the passenger side. The boost stays below 0psi. The car drives normal, just no boost.

Well that's it, my turbo on the passenger side is blown, the shaft broke. I have to send the turbo to Greddy to check on what caused it to break I'll be out of a car for maybe a month. Putting off my engine build once again... ack... something always comes up... wtf... just when you have the money and you think you're on the way... this happens

That sucks man, but it sounds like greddy should fix it. Are they gonna send you a new one or fix it all up and send it back?

Well Greddy will not warranty any turbo.

The problem that caused the turbo to go was that the company I went to made a mistake when installing my Defi BF Oil Temp gauge. They blocked the oil feed into the turbo, which starved the turbo of oil causing the turbo to seize and break the shaft in two places.

Tomorrow I will go the the shop that installed my gauges to show what they did wrong and hopefully they take care of the damages. From now on my car goes to Street Image for ALL installs, I've learned my lesson about going to other places.
