APS Intercooled Single Turbo High Output System
There's little doubt that the Nissan 350Z is a wonderful and exciting car to drive - though when enhanced with an APS intercooled turbo system, it's straight to the supercar club.
APS recognises that some 350Z performance enthusiasts demand alternatives to low cost centrifugal superchargers for the Z but are reluctant to move to the price bracket of twin turbocharged systems. The perfect solution is the APS Intercooled Single Turbo system. With huge outright horsepower and significantly higher torque in the low to mid engine RPM range than centrifugal superchargers, the APS Intercooled Single Turbo system delivers far greater engine performance at a comparable price point.

Testament to the turbocharger specification and tubing configuration is the absolutely outstanding boost response of the APS Intercooled Single Turbo System. With positive manifold pressure just above idle speed and full steady state turbocharger boost pressure by 2,500 RPM, the APS system makes for an awesome drive with strong low and mid RPM torque - and of course wild top end horsepower. After all, nobody likes to wait.

Drawing on the technology utilized in the APS Intercooled Twin Turbo system, APS has designed and manufactured a custom configured, vertical flow high efficiency intercooler utilizing custom designed light weight cast aluminium end tanks. Vertical flow inside the APS intercooler is by far the optimum configuration given the space considerations that must be accounted for in the front of the vehicle. This solves the huge air flow restriction problems that horizontal flow cores experience particularly at high power levels.s 90 degrees twice on entry and again twice on exit. In addition, both turns must take place inside the height of the end tank.
Importantly, the APS intercooler uses the latest in Bar and Plate core technology, not low cost off the shelf tube and fin. Other than the fact that the APS intercooler core boasts the highest flow and greatest temperature reduction, the bar and plate construction results in an inherently strong intercooler core of high thermal inertia. The advantage here for the performance street car and drag race enthusiast is that with the core's high thermal inertia, massive reserves of cooling capacity are available in situations where ambient air flow over the core is low. So, after a power run to heat tyres prior to staging for a quarter mile pass, there is plenty of intercooler capacity to launch with full power at your disposal - rather than forsaking power with a tube and fin construction core that becomes heat soaked during the initial burst.

Notes: Turbo included with the kit is good to about 650 RWHP at roughly 18-20 PSI.
Fuel system included with the kit good to AT LEAST 500 RWHP with proper tuning.
No issues as of yet have been reported.
Ability to run aftermarket headers as long as the outlet flange is in the stock location.
Must use either a y pipe back exhaust (Apexi, Tanabe, Fujitsobo, etc) or a modified dual.
Upgraded compressor wheel or turbo available through Turbonetics as part of the kit at an added cost. Turbonetics would need to know your output plans to customize it to your needs.
G35 version of the kit in production by March 28.

The G35 put down 343 hp and 350 torque on 7 psi, boost starting around 2000 rpms and full boost around 3500 rpms.

The turbo is a Precision SC61 (rated at 630 HP), the intercooler is a Precision large intercooler, Tial blow off valve and a Tial wastegate. All of the piping is stainless steel. All of it, even the intake. K&N airfilter. All of the best parts were used on this kit: no internal wastegates, no cheap blow off valves, no cheap piping. if anyone doesn't know Precision Engineering, their turbos are Garrett turbos with their own A/R design that makes the turbo boost quicker than a regular Garrett.

Solution: Install test-pipes. Brings the turbos to life!

350Z TWIN TURBO KIT UPDATE
Date:3/18/2005
The G35 TT kits are finished and awaiting final CARB certification. While this has been almost a full year of work, it will be the only street legal turbo kit for the G35 and 350Z available. The good news is that the 350Z version has been completed and in dyno testing mode at this time. Below is the 350Z engine layout. Both kits will be ready to ship once the certification process is complete. Note the intercoolers on the 350Z below. A completely integral center casting was designed to achieve a near perfect flow to the throttle tube, while using the maximum frontal area of the stock body nose. No stock parts including bumper bar or air bag sensors are moved or modified! Also note that all of the fluid bottles retain the stock locations.

Below is the first dyno session above the 6.8psi production boost, which shows off the incredible drivability of the kit. This is a kit that is specifically designed to put all of the power exactly were it can be used! Note the amazing mean hp of 310.9, this is the most important HP number for comparison as it represents the total area under the curve for the run. A somewhat useless "Brag Number" just before the rev cut, will never make you smile as much as a high mean overall HP and torque value. Keep in mind that this is still with all of the catalytic converters in place! We will let you know when the emission testing is finished.
