Default Vortech at high RPMs

I am still considering other cars at this point, but the Z is still calling out to me. I am toying with some Ideas like all NA or FI monster or an SR20DET

But I have a question:

Does the Vortech supercharger make power high up?
Lets say I wanted a Z ready for 7200RPM all day long, would the Vortech make any power up there?

Thanks, just another Idea...

The Vortech normally would make power to redline . As far as running 7,200rpm for long periods....I dont think the intercooler will cool the intake air enough and you would put the mototr at risk . Vortech can add stronger bearings to rev it higher . You could get a better intercooler . And then you would have to have head work done ...springs , retainers , and cams .

Really? I have heard that for 7200, you dont need head/cam work done?!

But it doesnt really matter, its all a pipe-dream anyway.

just to go to 7,200 and then back off...no. But to be in upper rpm for long periods , as you said . I would think it be a must . Springs and retainers for sure . Like I said the Vortech would out of its sweet spot and the intake temp would be higher

the vortech is a high quality centrifugal supercharger....

that said, as long as the motor is revving its going to make more power and more boost. of course the higher rpms and more boost are gonna make more heat...but the air to water intercooler should be more than capable of dissapating most of the heat. as with any kind of power adder car, you dont want to maintain that kind of rpm for extended periods of time because the car will get hot and possibly detonate and cause severe engine damage.

so just remeber, the vortech (and other centrifugal superchargers) make power in proportion to rpm...and with the 4 Valve heads airflow at high rpm shouldnt be a problem as long as the fuel system can handle everything and the tune can too.
