Default Supercharge plus Nitrous

OK, I was about to put on my nitrous kit when I totaled my Z because of Hydroplanning (seperate thread) and was planing on getting a supercharger later on.
Since I mostlikely will get another Z once the insurance settlement is done I want to go with a supercharger right away.
I have decided to go with the Stillen Stage 2 mainly because it's the only one that's street legal even though I hate having to change the hood.
I called them today to confirm it'll work on a 2005 Z and they said yes it does.

Now since this will bring me to about 330 whp (give or take some) I want to add a 75 shot for the track using a maximizer(since the APS TT dynoed at 430whp on a stock engine I'm assuming this is still safe).

My question now is: Is anyone here using a similar setup, supercharger and nitrous and are there any issues?

I don't want to go turbo because I had bad experiences and don't want to constantly dyno and retune my car, I like the supercharger concept.

Info is appreciated

As long as you can control the timing when on/off N20, then SC+N20 is a great/potent combo. With the centrifugal SCs, the N20 gives the torque before the SC really starts moving large amounts of air. With the Roots type(Stillen right?) you have off idle boost and full boost by 2000-2500rpm or so, however they only produce a fixed volume of air regardless of the blowers' rpm so you could use the N20 to hit the peak power you're aiming for.

I'd recommend looking into the J&S Safeguard, since it can retard timing with boost and pull even more when the N20 is activated.

Just what I've seen successfully run on my side of the VQ world, which was good enough for breaking into the 11's in at least one car.

thanks, good info
The maximizer can adjust timing. I don't know if I need something in between the maximizer and the ecu for that. I need to do some reading on the J&S Safeguard

Well, if you buy the Stillen(I have a buddy that wants to sell his). The Stillen unit pulls too much timing to begin with to make a safe system. Not only do they pull timing, they also give you a very rich A/F. So that should give you a big enough coushion. I've been running a 55 shot with 7lbs of boost. Besides a little oil being burned, everything runs well.I switched from 5/30 oil to 10/30 oil and that seemed to stop the oil burning situation.

Nope. Like I said, I think they pull enough timing. You can have them pull more timing but then you'll be sacrificing power when you're off the bottle.
I replaced the coolant in the intercooler with a Water Wetter mix. I use at least a little bit of race gas everytime I use the n2o to up the octane & prevent detinating. I also crank the heater to 90 to lower the coolant temp 10 deg. I plan on purging on my intercooler & installing an oil cooler.
As you can see, I try to use every precaution because this is my daily driver.
I have 41000 miles on my car & have been running my set-up a little over 15000 miles. 6000 miles with the n20/SC together.
I haven't dynoed yet but my friend has with the same set up(Stillens dyno). I believe he put down 410hp&tq. He had 8lbs of boost with a 35 shot. That said, I figure I'm in the 380-400hp&tq range
Sorry for the rambling
just somethin to think about

Oh yeah, the SC has like 1000-2000miles and it has a ported & polished plenum.
& forget about the J&S safeguard

Remember, the SC takes 20-40hp from the motor just to spin it.

What do you mean "please off your Stillen setup"?

J/K

here. Sorry, I hid evrything but you can see a little.

I wedged my zex box(which has both gas & n2o solenoids inside) & my widow switch under my master cylinder. they are both easily accessable. I made longer wires to the widow switch so I can rest it on my window when I'm testing.
I just bought a NX intercooler sprayer which I'm going to use for my purge lines & a Zex remote bottle opener. So I'll post pics when I'm done with the install.
